Peter, Immigration Officer in Taitung. . . .

I can’t help but wonder if the above person is Peter Chen, a person whose name has been mentioned on this board in the past:

So it was a great surprise to Z when Peter Chen walks in and says “There is a thief who held up a convenience store near here with a plastic bb gun, and he fits your roommate’s (X’s) description”. Mr Chen then gives a quick summary: a little less than six feet tall, brown hair, etc. Z says that X doesn’t in fact live here, and Peter Chen insists on searching the place anyway (without a warrant, mind you – Z asked to see it, Chen apparently brushed the question aside and insisted on looking anyway: i’m not real clear about the exact details on that one).

He’s also been mentioned in the Taipei Times:

If enforcement of the law is stricter in Taitung County it’s thanks in part to foreign affairs police officer Peter Chen (陳允萍). “If you’re going to try to skirt the law in my jurisdiction, I’m going to follow you to the end,” said Chen, who made the report to the CLA of Ezell’s performance, prompting the cancellation of his work permit and setting a 14-day deadline for Ezell to leave the country. His 14 days are up on Wednesday.

Chen described Scott’s performance as a “brazen violation” of the terms of his work permit.

Good news on the Peter Chen front. He is no longer a policeman.
He is now a civilian employee for the NIA.

I don’t know Chinese, but the contents of this page seem to be by and about Mr. Chen (a word of caution–陳允萍 is also the name of a woman who lives or has lived in Taitung or its environs):
