Mushrooms of the Day

what does this mean?

Most important things are I’m married, with two kids, and not on my 20s.

Yeah, I’m sorry

I get it now…120 rejections!

I didn’t mean the average rejections per night for a cow.

Approximately as old as Mr. Buddha, or the Warring States period of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty.

There were a bunch of fungi spotted recently. This was some sort of puffball. Included is a shot of the environment. It blends in well with the stones.

Saw these growing in some horse dung…

These were well camouflaged… I think they might be an edible species.

I suspect it was this, but I didn’t bring any home and I don’t have my Mushrooms Demystified book in Taiwan.

Great thread, how did i miss it!

Taiwan has some AMAZING fungus!

As mentioned urodacus, mever eat anything thats not confirmed. Get a microscope and learn about morphology, spore prints etc first. Might even be worth moderating comments on telling people they are safe. Many die annually.
A few pics, cell phone sorry.

Glowing mushrooms. Mycena chlorophos. I grow these in one of oue vivariums. Season is now for those interested. We were doing night tours a couple weeks ago.

These flies fell victim tohat ultra scary mind controlling fungus after laying down some manure. They were washed off in the rain at night unfirtunately, was hoping to culture them.

Auricularia auricula-judae?

Ya, they sure do look like wood ear. But i saw one recently that looked super similar but had more vein shaped gills underneath so doubt it is. Which made me start second guessing wood ear ID at least for eating.

Be interesting to learn more about the group, and safety

I think , after seeing this thread , I will just stick with the “ chesswood” varieties :smirk:
