People react differently. Edibles are a poor way to start. And if folks choose that way, it’s best to actually go in educated, which many aren’t. Dosing is incredibly hard due to delayed onset via oral routes. Vaporized, even via combustion, is at least fast and easily moderated.
The whole “it was laced” old wives tale is pretty stupid. Even just for simple economic reasons:
It’s good enough as is, and one can do more easily if it’s not.
People don’t need to become addicted physically, as it is plenty pleasurable as is without meaningful side affects.
It’s already VERY cheap and easy to produce. In house. No need for labs and hard jail terms for zero benefit.
It is simply a fear mongering thing to get the ignorant to scare the naive that this is a devil plant.
This isn’t her o in and the like where fent can be bought by VERY willing ccp type exporters and truly dodgy doctors and margins can be saved. Simply because the high is VASTLY different. Lacing weed is about as logical as lacing coffee. It’s good enough as is, and doesn’t need altering. Stupid to think otherwise
This story was old as fuck 30 years ago…sad to see it is still alive.
I do realize it probably has happened a very small handful of times. But that’s more due to it being illegal and the black market doing REALLY moronic things. Street dealers are not the brightest. But controlled companies are regulated and capable. It would be a tragedy to let the criminals win the battle by making it illegal again absolutely counter productive to lose control over something, especially willingly due to ingrained ignorance.
I did some baking in Canada, brownies is the traditional method. If it had a strong weed flavor, I can see how that would be gross.
Yeah, I’ve never tried the gummies
If two people both had headaches, that’s suspicious. But i agree it’s more likely a dosing issue than lacing. Or shitty quality gummies?
Increased regulation is a good idea. Seems like it has been the wild west over there. Would be a shame if the pendulum swung too far back, but underregulation could lead to that anyways
Or agricultural chemicals. Which are VERY real. Loads of pesticides are used in weed farms. Something that can be regulated and tested by the FDA if legal
Not to mention Thailand released prisoners that were in doing time for personal possession of cannabis. So the tax benefits also comes from not having to drain tax revenues in the justice system in catching, prosecuting, and jailing of cannabis users.
