As a result, most press people now shrug off the odd error or six — look at Maddow leaving her tweet up — so long as they feel stories are directionally right, i.e. aimed at deserving targets.

This is also why reasoned debate with those who identify the targets as in opposition to their ideals can’t happen or allowing the facts to fall where they may doesn’t matter, because they simply don’t care how they got there, only as Taibbi puts it.

That brand of pious sadism is now baseline norm in the wing of the media business where I once worked. Today’s press constantly makes religious icons out of tendentious bureaucrats like Bob Mueller and “Saint” Anthony Fauci, strives all the time to turn changeable news narratives into inflexible Holy Writ, and delights even more than Falwell in its own version of divine retribution stories.

I guess the good news is that the talking heads aren’t really even trying to hide their roles as propagandists now, and the only ones who buy what they’re selling are the ones who believe in their narratives to begin with.

I can’t really WATCH any news anymore. Even the six o’clock NBC broadcast is crisis, crisis, mega-crisis and finally, a celebrity death…every night.

I’m watching the full Spotify episode now. I like Bret and Heather. They’re not always right but at least they’re trying to break minds out of their safe boxes of orthodoxy.

It’s not racist if you show a picture of the kid from Compton with his hand on a white girl in an ambiguous pose. It’s not racist if your headline says he was in an “altercation” along with said picture of an ambiguous pose. Far be it from the media to assume morons will do the math wrong.

Do you have a link to this tweet? I can’t find it.

The incident in question was as the article itself says

A woman in a gorilla mask riding a bicycle threw the small white object past Elder’s head, as seen in a video posted on Twitter by Spectrum News reporter Kate Cagle.

That’s what they are investigating a white woman in a gorilla mask who threw an egg at Elder, the photo they used looks like Elder is the aggressor.

That is just so incredibly sleazy. The LA Times used to be a good paper too.

I’ve seen the video. Two screachers slapped one of Elders’ staff after they threw something at him. Classy, real classy.

American politics is a bit of a freak show, with all due respect to our American friends on here. I hear Elder has been on talk shows for years, all I know is a 3 or 4 minute clip I heard of him where he talks fast and seemed at least on the 3 or 4 minutes I heard to be smart, doesn’t mean I vouch for the other 60 or so other years of his life.

Someone on this forum linked to this documentary as a joke (or an illustration of the left’s racism). IIRC, it has a significant bit about Elder. Regardless, I found it an interesting watch:

I first heard of Elder when he red pilled Dave Rubin on air. It was astounding to watch.

The red pilling starts in earnest at around 27 minutes.

I didn’t know Elder is a lawyer.
