đŸ„‡ Olympics - The Tokyo Olympics 2021

what does it translate ?

“I really miss EVA, we could take business class”

Tsai apparently told them they’d be going to Japan in business class.

Misaligned expectations and outcome. . .

Her post and look kind of seems passive aggressive though. I don’t understand why such a big fuss was made for a 3 hour flight

It has nothing to do with the flight time. That’s a red herring.

It’s about showing respect to people who have trained their whole life to this event and will represent their country.

But I’d you can’t see that

It was reported that her father talked to reporters or something about how she was the special and needed rest or some such thing but I didn’t hear it myself.

Technically, they are representing their city.

Number one, they promised.

Number two, the babies were the officials, because they did not communicate with the athletes. They cannot handle anyone opposing them with logical arguments.

Furthermore, the officials rubbed salt on the wound by taking those business seats themselves. I do not expect them to respect social distancing there.

So the president apologized on behalf of her subordinates, who would never apologize themselves. She was the one who promised, they could have informed her beforehand of the change. But
you know how it is.

officials in business class?
athletes in economy?

So there are 66 athletes. Business class is 36 seats. How do you choose which athletes get the seats?

why of course the only way. rock, paper, scissors.

Lmao
but yeah the point is that there was no good solution that involved only one flight
But at least this way all athletes were treated equally, although it looks bad on the government’s side (which is why Tsai Ing Wen apologized I guess?)

It’s just funny how petty all the parties of this story are.

I think they should have just spent the money and got 2 airplanes? or is that not allowed with the current covid situation?

So have other athletes from other countries, my guess is that they don’t fly business on 12-16 hour flights.

Meaning strained relations already in place.

It sounds like she promised after the social media complaints, no?

They all get business class on the return trip so, presumably, three planes?

As said there are 200 economy seats, that’s 3 per athlete. Not enough?

No, the president had promised the athletes BEFORE they left for the Olympics, actually way back ago.

Last time they won medals they had the F15 escort and stuff. Big deal.
