Thank you.
Thank you, I will ask him!!!
Ok so I’m pretty sure I’m gonna open my own business. IIRC it takes a lot of paperwork and months of wait time to set up one as a foreigner. Not sure how true that is. If it is complicated would it be easier if I ask my Taiwanese partner to set it up and then they just transfer the appropriate percentage of shares to me? I would have to hold a firmly controlling percentage somewhere between 60-70%. I’m on APRC if that matters at all.
No. That is illegal. You need MOEA approval. While you can exempt yourself from the work permit requirements, the MOEA still scrutinises Taiwanese businesses owned by non nationals.
That would be fine if he was a partner or employee of the company wouldn’t it?
Would need to be very trusting to allow a partner to have all legal rights over ones income.
I don’t know all of the details. That is for my CPA to tell me. But foreigners cannot just do whatever they want in regards to ownership of businesses in Taiwan, especially with the Chinese threat and Chinese nationals trying to get around the rules.
You need MOEA approval. It is strict, but fair and easygoing. Your applications are more than likely to be approved.
