I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, I’m happy to see Trump slip into obscurity where he belongs. On the other hand, I’m not sure he should bear so much responsibility for the Capitol riot. So I hesitate to answer your question.
I’m talking about regular folks. There is a real shift in sentiment toward Trump among the general public. It’s not my imagination is it? I feel it’s happening.
Trump’s approval rating craters to 34%. That’s like Dubya post-Katrina numbers. Guess most Americans aren’t too big on things like treason and coup attempts.
How quick we are to forget the year long “Biden is up by 17 points” or the Hillary polls, over at Rassmussen who have been pretty steady, they have him around 48%
Polls can be used to shape public opinion as well as reflect the truth or accuracy of something.
Yes because no one likes to root for the underdog, and certainly no one gets complacent when they look at these “rigged polls” and see that their candidate is comfortably ahead. 
It strikes both ways, but it is hard to convey this truth to someone seemingly hell-bent on a particular interpretation of the world.

Tell it to Rasmussen who have been remarkably boring and with little change for 4 years.

Assuming the accusation that Rasmussen does not call cell phones is true… Guess who primarily still uses landline phones in the US? The older generation. Guess what party the older generation is still more skewed toward in the US? See a fatal flaw here?

Until polls start to accurately reflect reality, let’s just agree to disagree, I’ll use them for reference only, you can use them as circle jerk material if that makes you happy.

It means a circle of people reaffirming their own particular opinion in an effort to reassure themselves they are in fact right.
The etymology may be somewhat crude, but perhaps you could suggest a one word alternative that conveys the same meaning.

Next thing we know, Rasmussen - with their bleeding edge cellphone-free polling tactics -knocked it out of the park again by being correct. I point this out to you. You then suggest for me to use polls (including beloved Rasmussen now) as “circle jerk” material to prolong my “delusions” that Biden actually won and that there was “no malarkey”.
