The draft also allow to participate in petition and legal assembly and parade.
That will be the day hell freezes overā¦ though they could extent the current waiver for super duper foreigners. But no.
Mehā¦One would have thought a permanent resident would be entitled to do those basic things already.
Foreigners not on ARC/APRC shall be added to those who have that kind of basic rights.
Who in their right mind wants to give up their passport, to get a Taiwanese passport? Only if you are from some third world country.
Or if you are from a country that allows you to renounce, then un-renounce later.
Especially since Taiwan is always at threat of being taken over by big brother. Who may decide foreigners are a threat and kick them out, ROC ID or not. They just need to say they are a security risk.
Since that original passport is renounced the home country will feel no obligation to help either.
Canāt kick you out if you have no other passport. No country would accept them. Theyād have to put you in a camp. And not a summer camp eitherā¦
Band Camp?
Dunno. Until recently, Taiwanese were making a conga line to get into my old country and get our fourth world passport, in theory as a stepping stone towards US, but mostly for ease of travel and mind.
Now Iāve got it: Panama!
Take your pick, Taiwan used to have a lot of allies that part of the world :).
