Here she refers to the recent 4.8 earthquake in New York, not the 7.2 in Taiwan- God doesnât care about anywhere except the States. Probably ought to wait for the passing of August before trying to crow about low annual crime rates. Good chance that Chicago will get a tad handsy, and naturally the lefty coastal enclaves will beat their residents in solidarity.

At the national level, both violent crime and property crime are strongly seasonal, with
Pinkerton data scientists finding a 12% difference between peak and trough in property crime risk. Figure 1 shows the seasonal behavior of both violent and property crime risk as compiled from Pinkerton Crime Index data. The Pinkerton Crime Index is built from continuously sourced data from federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, as well as crime victimization surveys, among other source.
\Violent crime genarally dips 5% below average in winter, and plus 4% in summer. Itâs down about 2% in April.
When crime peaks in summer, I am sure you will not crow by comparing April stats to August stats this year, but by carefully comparing April 2023 to April 2024, and August 2023 to August 2024.
