I’m outside walking around in Zhongzheng and heard it first from some drunk foreigners (maybe Brits, not sure) outside a bar yelling “the Queen is dead, long live the King”. 
I checked the BBC homepage but it hadn’t been updated there yet, then saw you’d posted it here. You might have beaten the BBC, actually.

It’s King Charles III.
Met the Queen when she visited the Middle East in 1984. Attended a British school there. She greeted each and every one of us kids. The boys had to bow and the girls curtsy before her.
Allowed myself a quick cry earlier. Listened to Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven” for the first time in a very long time just now. An apt tune for an extraordinary lady. Rest in Peace Ma’am.
Long Live the King.
