Quotes/comments from and about Trump and his gang for Trump 2.0

So if I read this right, he’s saying he’s happy the Pope is dead?

Excerpt from Email from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security warning a San Diego resident born in the U.S. to leave the United States within 7 days: “If you do not depart the United States immediately, you will be subject to potential law enforcement actions that will result in your removal from the United States. Do not attempt to remain in the United States – The federal government will find you.” [Note: DHS official response to enquiries regarding this case.: “CBP used the known email addresses of the alien to send notifications. If a non-personal email—such as an American citizen contact—was provided by the alien, notices may have been sent to unintended recipients.”]

Trump regarding tariffs on China.: “145% is very high. It won’t be that high, it’s not going to be that high… It won’t be anywhere near that high. It will come down substantially, but it won’t be zero. We’re going to be very nice. They’re going to be very nice, and we’ll see what happens. But ultimately, [the Chinese government] have to make a deal because otherwise they’re not going to be able to deal in the United States. I think my relationship with President Xi is great. It was uh… It’s been great for a long time. We’ve had a very good relationship and I think we’ll make a deal with China. If we don’t make a deal we’ll set it. We’ll just set the number and you know… I think they’ll want to be a part of the United States. We’re doing great. We’re gonna— This is the Golden Age as Paul said. We’re talking about the Golden Age. There will never be a time like this, in my opinion and uh… China wants to be a part of it too.”

Maybe just looking forward to some golf in Italy…or maybe to putting his own name on the candidate list for new pope.

Only in your imagination. POTUS never said anything like that.

I think his point is that doesn’t matter. And even engaging on facts over feelings basis… God. Those who suffer from TDS (as in, those who bend over backwards to defend his every move, as that is far more deranged than seeing him as the feeble-minded demagogue he is) have a million examples of this that and the other thing that they will continually use to whatabout you around in a circle of different topics. And this is before you get to the idea of objective truth in the context of news media, meaning that you can present a clear example of X situation just for it to be waved off as liberal fake news.

The problem is that there is not a universally agreed upon objectivity, which, fair. News media was pretty much from inception not objective, and the idea of objectivity is an illusion. But when things that have objectively happened in a way anyone can see without editorializing get spun differently by different ends of the spectrum, there you go. That’s probably closer to what he means.

It’s people watching Trump help Elon sell Teslas by putting them out front of the white house, saying he’s getting one, and basically doing advertising for the brand.

I’m not sure how the thought leaders on the right – an oxymoron if I’ve ever seen one, they don’t seem to have many of those – has spun that, or if they’ve just ignored it, but it’s pretty much as objective and transparent an example of corruption as you can get. This will be handwaved.

Butbutbut, Hunter Biden. It wasn’t an advertisement! He wasn’t paid for it, so it’s not corruption. Idk. Something to that effect.

My grandfather does the whataboutist shit all the time - he’s not dumb, but he’s totally drank the kool-aid on ol Trumpy. Being retired and sitting in front of the TV with fox on too long doesn’t help. It’s impossible to discuss political matters with him. I bring up this, he brings up something related, be that closely or tangentially, and I’m dumb enough to go along with it. And by the end of the discussion, we’ve gone through several of these tangents, but not gotten any closer to the ostensible topic of discussion.

As much as I hate to agree with SatTv, yeah, no. I don’t think I’d ever say I’m “looking forward” to being at a funeral, but when the president uses the same English as 4th graders, don’t expect nuance.

I suspect that he is very much looking forward to being front and center in Rome while the whole world is watching just like he enjoyed the Notre Dame spectacle. I’m sure he’s aware that St. Peter’s Square was built to awe in the way that Mar-a-Lago aspires to. He’ll enjoy it even more if the various leaders fawn over him and figuratively kiss his ring.

The fact that it is is a funeral is irrelevant to him. It’s all about how grand he can appear at a magnificent location.

What will be interesting is if the Vatican resists his efforts to make it all about him. Or if he is not treated with the respect he thinks he is due by other leaders. Maybe he can get into an argument with Zelensky. We’re all living in Trump’s reality show now.

Musk comments during Tesla earnings call: “Now, the protests that you’ll see out there, they’re very organized, they’re paid for. They’re obviously not going to say, admit that the reason that they’re protesting is because they’re receiving fraudulent money or that they are the recipients of wasteful largesse, but they’re going to come up with some other reason. But that is – the real reason for the protests, the actual reason is that those receiving the waste and fraud wish to continue receiving it.”

Bad Vlad! Stop it!

Trump when asked what concessions Russia had made in the conflict, compared to his constant pressure on Ukraine.: “Stopping the war, stopping taking the whole country. Pretty big concession.”

Lancaster, California Mayor R. Rex Parris comments during a city council meeting on Feb. 25 when questioned about the city’s plan to address the homeless crisis by “enclosing” the homeless population in a single encampment in an abandoned golf course near a residential neighborhood.: “What I want to do is give them free fentanyl. That’s what I want to do. “I want to give them all the fentanyl they want,” [Later on Fox News to clarify his comments: “I made it very clear I was talking about the criminal element that were let out of the prisons that have now become 40 to 45% of what’s referred to as the homeless population. They are responsible for most of our robberies, most of our rapes, and at least half of our murders. There’s nothing that we can do for these people.” Quite frankly, I wish that the president would give us a purge. Because we do need to purge these people. Now, is it harsh? Of course, it is harsh. But it’s my obligation as the mayor of the city of Lancaster to protect the hardworking families that live there, and I am no longer able to do it… It’s an untenable situation, and I’m open to any solution… I want these people out of our city.” [Note: The mayor did not provide data to back up his claims about the number of crimes homeless people are responsible for.]

Website advertisement promoting Trump’s meme coin contest.: "The most EXCLUSIVE INVITATION in the World. Only for the TOP 220 $TRUMP Meme Coin Holders. President Donald J. Trump is Known as the “Crypto President!” At this Intimate Private Dinner, Hear First-Hand President Trump Talk about the Future of Crypto. Have Dinner with President Trump and the $TRUMP Community! U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright regarding increased oil production at current prices.: "$50 oil is not sustainable for producers.” [Note: Two weeks ago Wright told the Financial Times that shale could boost production even at $50 oil.],

Darren Beattie confirmed in a message to readers of the conservative website Revolver for which he worked that he would be taking up the post of acting undersecretary of state for public diplomacy.: “Thanks to President Trump’s miraculous victory, we have entered the beginning of a new Golden Age — of success, prosperity, legitimacy, and accountability. I have been given the great honor of serving once again in Trump’s administration, this time in the Department of State.” [Note: Beattie was fired during Trump’s first term for speaking at a conference attended by white nationalists. His previous comments included…“Competent white men must be in charge if you want things to work. Unfortunately, our entire national ideology is predicated on coddling the feelings of women and minorities, and demoralizing competent white men.”]

Michele Fiore, former Las Vegas City councilwoman and Republican justice of the peace in Nevada dubbed by some as “Lady Trump” upon received a pardon from Trump. “This act of mercy is not just a correction of a legal record — it is the restoration of a life, a reputation, and a mission long targeted for destruction.” [Note: Fiore stole money to be used for a statue honoring a Las Vegas police officer killed in the line of duty. Fiore was convicted of using those funds for personal expenses, including plastic surgery, rent and her daughter’s wedding. She now plans to return to her job as Justice of the Peace.]

Musk during Tesla earnings call: “I think the right thing to do is fight the waste and fraud and try to get the country back on the right track. If the ship of America goes down, Tesla will go with it.”

Trump when asked about his previous claim to end the war in Ukraine before or within 24 hours of becoming president.: “Well, I said that figuratively, and I said that as an exaggeration, because to make a point, and you know, it gets, of course, by the fake news [unintelligible]. Obviously, people know that when I said that, it was said in jest, but it was also said that it will be ended.” [Note: CNN has compiled a list of 53 times Trump made the claim about ending war in Ukraine. Below are a few from that compilation.

March 4, 2023. Speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference in National Harbor, Maryland. “Before I even arrive at the Oval Office, I will have the disastrous war between Russia and Ukraine settled. It will be settled quickly. Quickly. I will get the problem solved and I will get it solved in rapid order and it will take me no longer than one day. I know exactly what to say to each of them.”

June 24, 2023. Speech to the Faith and Freedom Coalition in Washington, DC. “Before I even arrive at the Oval Office, I will have the horrible war between Russia and Ukraine totally settled. I’ll have it done in 24 hours. I say that, and I would do that. That’s easy compared to some of the things – I’d get that done in 24 hours. I know them both. I know them both. As the Bible says, ‘Blessed are the peacemakers.’ See that? And I will be your peacemaker. I was your peacemaker.”

July 7, 2023. Rally in Council Bluffs, Iowa.“Before I even arrive at the Oval Office, shortly after I win the presidency, I will have the horrible war between Russia and Ukraine settled.” And: “I’ll get that done within 24 hours. Everyone says, ‘Oh, no, you can’t.’ Absolutely I can. Absolutely I can.”

January 17, 2024. Rally in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.“Upon taking office, I will also restore peace through strength. I will get that war in Ukraine settled so fast.” And: “I will get that straightened out very fast, very early. I think – I think I’ll get that finished when I’m president-elect. I think I’ll get it long, long before, long before I take the office.”

June 6, 2024. Interview with Dr. Phil. “I will deal with it, and I’ll get the war in Ukraine settled and done by the time I get to office. As president-elect, I will get it done. As president-elect, you have great power. I was able to do great deals from the time I got elected in 2016. I was able to do great deals from the time I got elected to the time I got to office, in that little – because you have great power there.”

October 16, 2024. Interview with Patrick Bet-David. Trump: “I think the world is going to behave and I think I will settle Russia-Ukraine while I’m president-elect.” Bet-David: “While you’re president-elect.” Trump: “While I’m president-elect.” Bet-David: “Wow.” Trump: “You need that credibility.” Bet-David: “Sure.” Trump: “While I’m president-elect, I will settle it.”

Yeah screw this blight of a human. Prob wise to divest some/cash out before these tariffs truly hit.

I’m all for buying quality over quantity. But I wonder how the usual MAGA mouth breather feels about trump taking their toys away?

It will be a strange Christmas… :santa_claus: :mrs_claus: :christmas_tree:

“Is Buddha needed for Buddhism?” he said, according to The Washington Post, when asked about who will lead DOGE in his absence. Musk has indicated he intends to step back from his DOGE role this month. “Was it not stronger after he passed away?”

That’s deep, man.

Trump: I take people into the oval office. The biggest people, foreign leaders, princes, kings, queens, presidents, prime ministers. A couple of dictators, I guess. They don’t say that. They say “I’m a prime minister or president,” and I say "No, you’re a dictator. But that’s ok.”

Just…far too many to pick one.

he’s kinda in the name…

replace with Jesus Christ and it becomes blasphemy.
