Sad to hear it. Very sad.
He will be missed for sure.
He left this life and this community with many people as witness to his energy, humor and showed us how to face life with a smile on our faces (and sometimes a smirk :smirk: )
Damn…
Just the amount of people here that never met him IRL but still will miss him goes to show how special guy he was.
Rest in peace, friend. :bowing:

Anyone remember how old he was? I think he was still relatively young.

He seemed like he would be a great guy to know IRL. Rest in peace Shiadoa (Alan) and condolences to his family and friends.

For anyone here who knew him, my deepest condolences. As many have testified, he brought levity and humor (often painfully bad, which made it better) to even the most bitter of disagreements, never becoming bitter himself. I’m glad he had some time after his initial sickness to live life a little longer and to make his peace as he saw fit.

It was written by Mary Elizabeth Frye in 1932, originally thought to be a native American Indian poem but credited to Mary in later life. Used at my sisters funeral many years ago, and a favourite in Military circles too.

I want to second this. No matter what someone said even if it was stupid, he would accept your opinion graciously. And had an amazing sense of humour and would brighten up the forum with his posts.

Hearing this is quite sad

Never met him, but shall always remember his humor and grace towards the end of his travels here on earth.
God rest his merry soul.

Thank you for the update. While I didn’t know him but the brief time I caught his posts on Forumosa made me think he had a wicked sense of humor. So, glad to read the heart warming posts. I’ll send up a prayer or two for him and his family.

To his friends here so sorry for your loss. I hope you are comforted by his warm personality and the memories you made with him.
