Forumosa is a worse place without him. Unfortunately did not meet him personally, but I’ve really enjoyed talking to him on here. From what I understand, he lived for 2 life times. Anyone know if there is any fund going for his family? Did he pass away in Taiwan and would need to fly him back to the UK?

I’m also wondering about this. I hope he’s put to rest as he wished. I imagine his friends in Taichung are helping to arrange everything?

This is from a very brief pm exchange I had with Shiadoa, not long after returning from my dad’s funeral. Many of Shiadoa’s good qualities are eveident even from this small message.

My condolences to all.

So sad. Never met him, would have liked to for sure! This forum has lost an inspirational voice. We will miss him !!! God speed and soar with the Eagles.

Another voice sadly lost, and reduced to a wisp of 0s & 1s flowing through all our devices. God speed, sir.

Even though I didn’t know him personally, I still feel like I’m going to miss seeing his posts here.

I have so many fond memories of this guy here at forumosa.com. He went into the hospital in early August, and while he broke out for a few weeks this fall it didn’t last. Breaks my heart.

I recall a conversation where he wondered aloud whether, if he got out of the hospital it might not be better to go out in a blaze of champagne, fast women, and Cuban cigars. At the time I remember thinking, is it really that dire? I guess it was. I hope he acted on his plan, and that’s what put him in hospital the second time.

In any case, he was probably the most gracious and kindest formumosan among us all. The guy was always looking for ways to support everybody he came in contact with.

I hope St. Peter remains forgiving when he sees the sudden spike in ellipses and corny meme images stored in heaven’s database the past 24 hours. It will be his turn now to enjoy Alan’s attempts to make everyone there happy. The periods and the corn are lost to us all now, to heaven’s decided gain.

Rest in peace, @shiadoa.

These days I was thinking of a rude response I posted in one of my prank posts, the “where can I find a shose shop” one. He really believed that I was serious (and stupid :frowning: ) and he apologized by PM. I apologized to him and explained that it was a silly prank, feeling so bad for him being so nice. He was SO nice, I don’t think that there’s ever been a more likeable person in this forum. He always gave me a positive vibe since the first post I read from him, and the fact that everybody here praises his positive, friendly attitude here means something.

I was really hoping to read him again these days, it’s a real pity it didn’t happen. Now he’s probably taking pictures of himself with some innocent, well looking angels.

I propose that a permanent tribute for Shiadoa be made here, maybe rename a section of the Forums to remember our dear departed member and his dopey memes , jokes and general all round good humour .
