Rush Limbaugh: The man who's always Right

What a pile of shit. And no I have no interest in arguing the point as I used to be an poorly informed conservative until I started to read past the headlines. There is a case to be made for a free market health care system but it doesn’t start with painting socialized health care with a tar brush.

Right, it would be interesting to see if Okami could produce any evidence to back up that wild claim. A good place to start might be a comparison of mortality rates or the burden of health care costs to the population between countries with socialised healthcare on the one hand and the US on the other.

. . . have you people noticed who the torturers are? Women! The babes! The babes are meting out the torture.

. . . You know, if you look at – if you, really, if you look at these pictures, I mean, I don’t know if it’s just me, but it looks just like anything you’d see Madonna, or Britney Spears do on stage. Maybe I’m – yeah. And get an NEA grant for something like this. Was it really that funny, Okami? Just a bunch of silly pranks? Just having some fun? Only the hypersensitive “libs” were bothered by it?

Is that how you wish for US prisoners to be treated?

Will you admit that maybe Rush was full of shit with regard to Abu Ghraib?
Oh, boo hoo. A company raking in over US$250,000 in profits will be (gasp!) subjected to a whopping 3% increase in taxes for amounts above that amount, just like it was in the Clinton years!

How my heart aches for the plight of those poor, unfortunate rich people! How can they ever survive the tragedy of not being able to afford that extra bit of gold to plate their Bentleys with…this week at least? :unamused:
Chris,

What has that to do with the fact that many in the media and many here continue to lie about Joe the plummer? Can you explain why many keep misrepresenting what the man said even after it has been pointed out repeatedly that he did not claim to have an income in excess of US$ 200,000… and also explain why you think it was OK for the government to abuse its powers by searching for info on the guy?

The government abused its power? That means George Bush right? Can we put him in jail? Finally?

Well, no. The Democrats in Ohio abused their powers. Do you want to put them in jail?

yes, put them in jail. Come on, libertarian party!

Perhaps. The lady that ordered the record check is currently under investigation. We may have to punish her. But not all democrats in Ohio.
He did not claim to have made US$ 200,000. How long are you guys going to keep posting this lie?

He said that he was thinking of buying a business that might earn more than US$ 250,000 and that under Obamessiah’s plan he would be subjected to a higher tax rate.
My bad. Didn’t mean to lie. Haven’t been following the “Joe the Plumber” thread at all. Now go call me a liar again, if you like.

The dude wasn’t “some guy holding a different political opinion than/from my own”. He was a FAKE - not to mention a hypocrite. A TOOL of the McCain campaign. If there were illegal measure used in exposing his fakery - as I’ve said I haven’t been following the ‘Joe the Plumber’ thread - that’s regrettable and should be investigated. Unfortunately for the Obama campaign, unlike the Bush administration it can’t dodge all attempts at prosecution for its activities under the all-encompassing, all-protective force-field of “national security”. So you guys might even get somewhere with that. Doesn’t change the fact that “Joe” DIDN’T WORK - the nation DIDN’T BUY the bogus reasoning of this Rove-created propaganda caricature.

Try as I might, I can’t bring to mind what HF’s character actually did say of his boss. However, I will tell you that your comment here reminds me of myself when I first came to this forum back in '03, I think it was. Things were a lot different around here then, and I got “flamed” and name-called by three or four right-wing “heavies” on the forum - Fred Smith, Cold Front, that guy 666 something-or-other who went off to Bali, and Tigerman, I believe. Those dudes used to gang-bang any uppity liberal who dared say shit about the Bush administration back then. My point being, inappropriate argument-style and chicken-peck parties happen on both sides. It’s a shame, but I suggest you thicken up your skin a bit if you want to join in these discussions. Speaking for myself, after putting up with the Bush administration for eight years, I’ve got a LOT of venting yet to do!

Yea, man, get off your high (hobby)horse.

I didn’t call you a “liar”. I said that many continue to post the lie and that many here lie about the fact. If you posted the lie due to ignorance, then you are not a “liar”… just reckless with the facts.

He wasn’t a fake. He’s a real guy. He’s a plummer. He was considering buying a business. How is he a “fake”?

Yes, there were abuses of power committed by several Democrats in power in Ohio and yes their acts are being investigated.

What are you talking about? The guy approached Obama and asked a question. His question was a good one and Obama answered it. The exchange was captured on video and placed on You Tube.

After that, he was identified by McCain and his campaign and the media and the Democrats went after him.

His question was a relevant question, but the Dems and the media decided to go after the messanger rather than to answer the message. To Obama’s credit, he answered the question rather than trying to attack the guy. A pity the media and the Dems couldn’t follow Obama’s example on that score.

Why do Republicans continue to peddle the lie that Joe was a plumber?

What’s the correct nomenclature here? Labourer with lofty aspirations to unblock someone else’s shitter?

HG

The guy’s no better than a damn draft dodger, probably went to some damn college or national guard to hide his ass.

How is it a lie? He’s unlicensed. That doesn’t mean that he isn’t a plumber. Doctors and attorneys are still doctors and attorneys even without licenses. The license merely allows one to practice the trade or profession in a particular state and or under certain restrictions.

It certainly is no lie to call an unlicensed plumber a “plumber”.

OH MY GOD! That fucker’s name isn’t really “Joe The Plumber”… His name is Samuel J. Wurzelbacher. That fucking phoney!

This is extremely ironic.

I believe that the J stands for “Joe”. I also go by my middle name. Does that make me a “liar” or a “fake”?

The above quote is a lie. Or at best a gross missrepresentation of what the guy said to Obama. JTP did NOT suggest to Obama that he earns US$ 250,000.

Why do you guys keep posting this crap? Here is what JTP said to Obama:

Man, given he lied about his occupation, why would you trust him on what he reckons he earns?

Unlicensed doctor = quack. Joe the quack plumber, as opposed to the plumber’s quack?

HG

Well, a “plummer” is a completely different matter… I believe the Urban Dictionary covers this adequately: urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=plummer
plummer: a creepy teacher-like pedohile
“who wants to slip-n-slide?” said the plummer

Oh, and he sure looked like a fake … running about the country agreeing with wild-eyed wackos that electing Obama would “mean the death of Israel” and then not even being able to explain why he thought so. And for a guy who’s never made more than $40,000 a year in his life, hearing him claim that Obama’s tax plan might interfere with his dreams to buy some unspecified business that would increase his income by something like 800% … :liar:

While McCain was running about the country pinning his hopes to “Joe the Plumber” and “Tito the Builder” to supply their incoherent versons of “folk wisdom”, Obama was contacting Warren Buffet and people who actually know something about the markets and the economy.

He didn’t lie about his occupation. Ohio does not have a formal statewide licensing system for plumbers. Many municipalities in Ohio have licensing requirements, but the State does not. Maybe he restricted his work to municipalities where he didn’t need a license. Maybe the type of work that he performed did not require a license. In any event, he didn’t lie about his occupation.

And he didn’t make any statement regarding his earnings, so why should I question him on that count?

An unlicensed doctor is not necessarily a quack.

Whatever…

You guys were calling him a liar and distorting his statements well before he went on to expressing his other opinions. For that, you guys were wrong and are still wrong on that score.

Plumbing is not rocket science. I’ve done my share. Mostly to avoid paying somebody to do it. I wouldn’t call myself a plumber either. Now, if someone needs surgery, I would consider it. I use a box knife that is sterilized.
