Sisy Chen

Sisy Chen has played a major role in stirring up KMT passions. It appears that at one time she stirred up a different sort of passion among the DPP.

Back in 1996 or 1997 a book called Beigang Censer, which translates into English as "the north port incense burner (into which everyone plants a joss stick) was written by Shih Ming-teh’s girlfriend.

Taipei opposition-party power-broker Sisy Chen, top, is recognized for her political savvy – and for her hot clothing and cool image (sunglasses at indoor press conferences). These days though, the Democratic Progressive Party director of information is in the news for being hounded with questions about an alleged affair with former DPP chairman Shih Ming-teh.

The queries started after the release of review copies of “The North Harbor Incense Burner Into Which Everyone Plants a Joss Stick.”

The yet unpublished novel’s power-hungry heroine, Lin Lee-chih, bed-hops her way to the top. To the Taiwan press, Lin seemed a lot like Chen. The book was written by Lee Ang, Shih’s former girlfriend.

Chen, 39, has dismissed the fuss as the antics of a spurned lover. As for legislator Shih, 56, all he will say of Chen is: “We have shared comradely love. But we never shared the love between a man and a woman.”[/quote]

Rumors continued to float around. Several years ago DPP lawmaker Chou Po-lun stated that “what makes her so formidable is her prowess at seducing married men.” Specifically, he was referring to her reportedly having affairs with two former DPP chairmen, Hsu Hsin-liang and Shih Ming-te, who, he claims, broke ranks with the DPP as a result of Chen’s persuasion.

There’s already some talk floating around that all her conspiracy theory ranting on Friday night helped push moderate voters to the DPP. In which case it can be said that she is directly responsible for the downfall of four party chairmans.

Very credible talk in my opinion.

Although her allegations and insinuations about the attempted assassination of President Chen were absurd and despicable beyond belief, they have apparently proved to be the first positive contribution she’s made to Taiwan since she switched her allegiance to those she thought would be most likely to offer her the high place in government that she so craves but is clearly so unfit to hold.

She is a woman without the slightest shred of moral or intellectual integrity, and it’s little wonder she’s betrayed her political mentors for an alliance with the likes of Lien and Soong.

Maybe Sissy Chen has all the time been a double agent for her first love, DPP, and she spread these rumors on purpose to give the win to DPP, albeit in a weird way. Maybe she is a heroine after all!

Or at least, without knowing it. I heard she doesn’t drive. She has a driver. Rich girl.

Can someone please find and post a photo of Sisy Chen here? Thanks! I so rarely watch tv, so I’m not sure who exactly she is, and what this traitor wench looks like.

I hate to go off on a slight tangent here, but…

It seems as if we often use the harshest words when we’re criticizing a woman. Especially words like the b word (rhymes with rich) and c word (uh, nevermind) that have no male equivalents. Excessive IMHO.

That word isn’t gender-specific, at least not when its being used as a sweary word.

I agree that its excessive, although maybe not in Chen’s case – she’s a real low-life.

The kindy I’m working at WAS all for the KMT before the election. The kids were practicing this blue-flag waving dance routine for months before the election, in the good chance they would be elected. Now when I ask the teachers and other staff what they think, they tell me that they are disgusted with the way their party has handled things post election. Some have even wished they voted DPP. The kiddies are no longer waving flags in the morning. I have a feeling the next time I see flag waving, it will be the green colored variety. Interesting.

Low-cut clothes, open-toed sandals, and her languorous manner of speaking set former DPP spokeswoman Sisy Chen apart in Taiwan’s male-dominated political world, and she has come to represent a new, in-the-know, independent Taiwan woman.

“I hope one day the mothers of homosexuals in Taiwan will be able to proudly admit that their children are gay, just as I saw in the New York gay parade,” said independent candidate Sisy Chen, who held a mock lesbian wedding last year with female New Party legislator Chu Hui-liang to strengthen the gay rights movement.

Playboy magazine took one of former DPP spokeswoman Sisy Chen’s (陳文茜) jokes seriously yesterday and offered her NT$3 million to pose as the magazine’s cover girl as she had proposed.
After making public her having breast cancer on Thursday, Chen told reporters jokingly that she would “take advantage of her breasts’ surplus value by posing naked for the magazine at a cost of NT$3 million.” She added that she would use the money to buy the Steinway piano she had long dreamed about.

If she ever does accept that offer, will that 3 million be enough to pay for the therapy I’ll need after viewing her chest? :astonished:

Her sagging boobs must surely be an even more hideous sight than her fatty, shifty-eyed, cosmetic-encrusted, pock-marked, avaricious face.

You mean a “see you next Tuesday”?

Ha! Took me a while to get that.

Reminds me of the movie “Boys In The Band” when a catty queen calls another guy a /sunt/. He then adds: “That’s French, with a cedilla.”

Its been raised here previously, and I totally agree. If you want to insult Sisy Chen, or any other female, for that matter, can such insults not be directed at her spoken words and ideas rather than her physical characteristics?

Yeah, let’s be fair and rag on Lien Chan for looking like a constipated Orville Redenbacker.

enough!
Sisy Chen is a highly intelligent, witty and upright person who does not deserve those rather primitive critics. I hope that some folks here realize that Omni’s cheap sexist shots on this woman are totally unfair. She is attacked for being a women.

:wanker: :wanker: :wanker: :wanker: Yeah, and Song Chuyu has gone to Sunday school everyday of his life. :unamused:

Whereas please feel free to refer to any part of a male’s appearance however you wish when directing insults at him? In other words, women’s appearances are sacrosanct while men’s appearances aren’t?

Hmmm, I wonder where you got that from? It’s not one that I’ve heard before. But I have to say, it’s an interesting example of reverse gender discrimination or something of the sort (sorry, I’m not quite up on the correct terminology for this branch of political correctness).
