Went to have hotel hot pot, some people drinking beer but not for me in Taiwan for work day lunch (Europe seems ok sometimes, even wine for working lunch). What do you drink

Is this a work team-building activity or just a normal lunch? If the former, then beer, why not? If the latter, then probably tea, but I would never have hot pot for a normal workday lunch.

If they have that on tap Taiwan beer I choose that, its delish.
Usually I get the no sugar green tea or just whatever tea is on offer. Dong gua tea is pretty good with hot pot.

If the beer is included in the price, I’ll sometimes have a glass or two. Otherwise, I’ll mostly dring water and milk tea (milk can help to get rid of the spiciness a bit).
Oh, and my girlfriend will usually remind me to avoid carbonated drinks at all-you-can-eat hot-pots because they will make you feel full faster (apparently?) reducing to amount of (free) meat one can eat.

I’ll just drink whatever’s there. Taiwan Beer certainly goes well with hotpot.
There used to be a few hotpot places that did unlimited beer back in the day, but they seem to be less and less common. Where did you go? Was this in Kaohsiung?

The icy slushy drinks. So hard. Filled with crushed ice you can’t even drink them.

Asahi is always the go-to. But in Taiwan, gold lager was a good friend.

Man, the hotpot must be pretty dire if it makes Taiwan Beer taste good.

I don’t eat hotpot. Boiled meat and vegetables? Might as well eat British food… 
The point is, if you smother everything in 莎莎醬 you can’t taste the Taiwan Beer. Or the vegetables.
