Well Violet, you are an adult so I guess you can sum up your own experience.
It’ does seem a little weird but in Taiwan I’ve seen this type of thing before.
As you stated, you were in a public place, but in Taiwan that does not make it safer.
However, you were not molested, but damned if I’d let a complete stranger give me a massage apart from a chiropractor in his/her office.
What happened is certainly out of the normal bounds for most people. Perhaps the massage helped for your interview.
Perhaps some people are so paranoid that they can’t accept a bit of human kindness anymore.
I wonder what the reactions here would have been if it had been a Taiwanese woman showing a Western guy around and giving him a great massage… would there be anybody advocating not calling her?
