Tainan Japanese (American) and Mexican

Shit. That’s sad news. The food industry is pretty damn cut throat, super hard to justify it more often than not! All understandable, but sad to hear. Best of luck moving forward, the numbers need to make sense. It’s great you have another way to be though!

This is sad to hear. I haven’t been to Tainan for a while. I regret that now. :slightly_frowning_face:

With this door—or truck, in this case—closing (for now), hopefully other doors will open soon.

Please PM for a reservation. We are expecting a full house for pretty much the entire evening. This weekend we won’t open on Friday but open on the 22nd. I also plan to open the first weekend of July. Thanks!

Edit.
22nd we are fully booked until 9pm.

So sad you will be closed, I hope you find a good person to buy your food truck and run it. (Did you sell it yet?)

It’s not sold yet! We haven’t made an official ad for it. We do have leads so hopefully it’ll lead us to a good result! Thank you for your kind words!

oh damn! and I just discovered this post a few hours ago and was already planning to visit!

But you’re right, at the end of the day, the revenue has to match the amount of effort put in - it’s just the undeniable truth.

Wish you the best of luck with your teaching career and looking forward to visiting your next culinary venture!

That looks like the real deal sushi right here. The problem with many of the best stalls and trucks is they are usually booked when you want to go there. Happened to me at my favourite homemade pasta place got turned away rudely and will not go back now . And I was only one person arriving before lunchtime ! Or not open when you go there . Not directed at you in particular. When my family turns up we usually can’t get seating.

I always think why don’t they open a bigger spot but I think capital is an issue. If capital is an issue look for partners ?

Most people here think they can open up a restaurant without actually knowing what it takes.

I don’t understand your point. Anyway the only way to know what it takes is to open up a restaurant.

Or to get training and education in business acumen beforehand.

My point is none of them seem to have any sense of business acumen and through their actions end up turning away customers.

The notion of food trucks taking reservations is wild to me, is that common? The only one I really frequent serves Greek food during lunch, first come first served.

Well not food trucks in my case but I’m familiar with many market stalls that take reservations and are often booked out at peak times. So they are in the market but you can’t actually eat there when you visit randomly.

Did you sell it?

Hi, the factory did take it back. However, it hasn’t been sold yet. I assume they can help us repair it here and there, and hopefully resell it soon.

The truck manufacturing company is in Changhua, and he finally bought it back from us — so it’s officially over. I’m not sure if I’ll get back into the restaurant business, but I’ve already started dipping my toes into cooking in other ways. Let’s see how it unfolds!
