Not you, generally. Taiwan has a list, it’s a thing here
This superstition has always annoyed me.
What are we supposed to do—live forever? Die on the street? Come on!
Guy
Is not they have issues when people kill themselves? For example when someone jump, it’s haunted his apartment and all the apartments down until the ground. The apartments up are safe lol
Why isn’t every hospital haunted? That hospital bed you’re lying in? Chances are, someone died in it. No wonder so many people die in those places. The ghosts got’em.
Some people yes, but I think it’s not like Taiwan at all. Japanese worry less about this, like the number 4, Taiwan have more fear of it.
Some its Japanese understand less about Taiwan, this lady explains to younger people more
In Japan, unlike Taiwan homes are worth less and many go down in value over time like a car as it gets old (heritage homes excluded) so an elder lives in old house mostly people want a newer house (people replace the house itself after like 20-30 years). So even if a Japanese person belives this, its less of a factor in the home price.
Japanese people are too polite to haunt the houses they die in.
Elders dying of natural cause is not legally considered haunted and so no discounts will be offered. To my knowledge only suicides or murders count.
Immigration is only a problem for people who wants to preserve cultural unity. If you want to keep the country from dying out, it will be cheaper than paying full childcare cost for everyone. Immigrants bring money and talent, babies cost money.
Taiwanese people are so friendly, they linger after death so we don’t get lonely

I have no issue buying a suicide or murder house myself, and getting a fat discount, it’s just that one better plan on living there forever since nobody else will ever want it most likely.
This issue with suicides and property value is it can come back to bite if someone commits suicide in a high rise condo, there goes the whole building property value. Always made me second guess condos vs owing ones own home
Keep us posted on how it goes. "A Haunting" Hungry Ghosts (TV Episode 2006) - IMDb
Like any other home buying experience I would guess? ![]()
I’ll have to check that show out, I like a good fictional horror flick though
…and this helps with the replenishment of the population?
Nations might need to consider having a fertility pride month and some parent appreciation weeks thrown in there lol
It depends on the immigrants. They also age and start taking from the society. Maybe some special immigration visas for parents?
That is weird…especially since the kids are also part Vietnamese (and Vietnam poses to be a reliable trading partner with taiwan….Lord knows how rare those are lol)
Good on your classmate for praising motherhood. We do need to teach or remind women about the reward and pride of being mothers.
I’ll take it a step further and claim that women need to be reminded of their feminine fertile physique and use it to attract quality husbands.
Both Hitler and Stalin gave medals to mothers who had 10 children for the nation.
Most immigrants are young people of working- and child-bearing age._
What are you trying to say? Having many children is bad or because those dictators liked it we shouldn’t do it anymore?
Hitler and Stalin also drank water. Be careful. /s
Mongolia has a practice of honoring mothers with many children:
ugh…
Hitler and Stalin also drank coffee. Should we pull the plug on that too?
To be honest maybe some of these soon-to-be-extinct nations should consider giving some kind of reward to parents of 10 kids for the nation.
AFAIK, Hitler and Stalin didn’t launch campaigns to push water- or coffee-drinking. They did, however, launch launch pro-natalist campaigns- as did Chairman Mao.
The Nazis were quite progressive in terms of the rights of single mothers. At least Aryan ones.
