That’s pretty much what my wife says - she did the signing up for me. But note that it’ll only apply to the things that “count”: groceries, restaurants, etc. I believe it won’t count for utility bills or stock purchases or international purchases - or a few other things I’m doubtless forgetting.
Our current mystery is if we’ll still accumulate credit card points for those purchases.
I may have misunderstood, but I think the food vouchers go to the first 4,000,000 people to register. The other special vouchers are by lottery.
News says about 1,000,000 have registered. All this trouble over just a million registrations. Taiwan needs to get a better backbone for things like this. If they can’t manage it when it’s expected for months, it’s no surprise the online school system crashed when L3 hit. It’s not a good look for a budding tech hub.
It would help if they didn’t give incentive to bum rush the system with a first come first serve bonus…it’s not exactly a surprise that this would happen, especially in Taiwan of all places…
They should have just made it so that everyone that registers in the first 30 or so days is given a chance to win the special voucher.
I managed to get the 10,000 for one of my kids, after quite a struggle and numerous phone calls to the “help line” 0809-098001 . With the Sept 30 deadline approaching I hit the post office again today to apply for my other kid who recently received an APRC…again multiple phone calls however finally denied! Not only do wholly foreign couples require a parent to have an APRC, the child to have an APRC, the child must have received the APRC before the July 26th ending of level 3! This is despite the fact that eligibility for APRC holders was not clarified until August 16th…Taiwan Up!
You can Apply for special stimulus vouchers (台北市熊好券) on the “Taipei Pass 台北通” App
Is an online lottery and the winners will get a notification on October 8th
I saw this, but how does it work. The “lottery” seems to be tied to how much you spend in Taipei, but I can’t understand how they track that.
Fking LinePay still won’t let me bind the vouchers. I registered for Jko, and managed to link my bank, but I’m afraid to use it because I haven’t verified my identity. I think it might already know me. It seems to be aware of purchases I made through Shopee. Jko was part of their ID verification for overseas purchases. I don’t see my name anywhere in it, though, and my name won’t fit without leaving out a letter.
Is a Digital Voucher . So once you get the Voucher then is going to show on the Taipei Pass App (Go to Home screen > Tickets > Wallet > Voucher/ Coupon )
These vouchers are different from the ones the government are giving , so no need to to bind your line Pay , credit card … , anyone can apply for the lottery , just need to download the Taipei Pass App
I think I’m just going to stick with paper vouchers because of flexibility. I feel like if I bind to any digital payment, like even credit card, I’ll be limited to where I can use them because so many sellers in Taiwan will not accept credit cards. Also Costco…
Yes, but how do you get the voucher? Is it a random lottery for everyone with the TaipeiPass app? From what I read, your odds of winning increase the more you spend in Taipei. That’s the part I don’t understand, if I’m right about it.
I followed your instructions and clicked everything. Not sure what’s next.
The LinePay mention was regarding the 5K vouchers.
Is a random lottery , you need to wait until October (I think is 6th or 8th) to see if you get some of these vouchers
There is a higher chance to get the Food Vouchers 「饗購券」 because there are 900,000 vouchers
I finally bound (binded?) LinePay to the 5K vouchers. I was number 3,082,xxx and got the $500 food vouchers. No idea how to use the food vouchers. It gave me a code. No indication of what to do.
