Wait, so the judges like corn and shredded dried pork inside what looks to be a donut or pastry?

Technicolour orange pork floss donuts next year do you think?

They won another year 2018 I think.

Can’t be same as sold in bakers shops Taipei, milk powder bread and everything coated in sugar syrup.

French patisserie are exceptional in comparison.

On their official Facebook page, Chine Taipei won the competition. What a joke.

EDIT: my mistake. Last time was second

Well, they were competing against the French. Counts as a win in my book.

I had the choice of a Patisserie in France or any Cake/Bread shop in Taiwan I would choose one in France no matter who won the competition.

We won, but I still continue to see this in bakery windows.

This is from 2008, but I’m guessing that that’s also pretty much how it worked this time:

Taiwan kicks ass at making food. No way around it.

Maybe there is a lot of paperwork and bureaucracy to enter or something?

The secret ingredient is lard! LOL
I had it from a bakery in a small town where the bread was freshly baked (bought it after lunch) and the floss had a layer of lard underneath.

It is still at the gourmet level of beef jerky but it is edible.
