It’s probably still profiting some admin in those organizations. They are still lining their pockets, but just not less tax payers money.

That’s more about law and covid than about food recipes. Food companies MADE BANK during covid. And still are because of it. The reality of that situation is far more disgusting than any cheapo lunchbox Pic TT can show haha.
Thankfully many hospitals don’t really help their patients with a lot of basic nursing duties. Hence why they have food courts. I put hospitals food here on the same level as shopping malls but without the nicer restaraunts. When my kid was being born, I had subway on B1 often. Not great food, but not stereotypical “hospital” food either. Vegetarian buffets, dumplings, all kinds of noodles, Vietnamese etc.
Often times when I’m stuck in school or hospital, it felt mandatory/forced as well.
Pack your own lunch…or accept the hopeless.
I had one awful one too. A mushroom breakfast burger. Burger bun with one thin slice of mushroom.
Damn right I complained about it. Most of the meals were decent though.

I like soup and fish soup but I dunno a whole restaurant dedicated to it is weird and they are everywhere now.
That and screw glass noodle (螺絲粉) are just Chinese food fads that I can’t be bothered to try.
I read this post a while ago and it definitely put words to what I had observed but hadn’t really thought about; aside from a lack of crunchy food

There aren’t a lack of fried foods in Taiwan. Maybe choices of personal sized pastries are more limited. So, as far as savory food goes, plenty of crunchy options, less crumbly or flaky ones.
I dismissed it too because I can’t remember having any good fish here.

Not so much; most of the food is Q as the article is saying. I did have some yummy churros today but that’s not exactly an authentic Taiwanese dish
