Eastern Multimedia Company is running a survey on media attitudes and habits of a long-ignored segment of the population in Taiwan - foreign nationals.

The company is hoping that giving away prizes (an HP PocketPC and a Casio digital camera) in a post-survey draw will stimulate interest in the survey.

It only took me three minutes to complete the online survey, despite the 5-10 minute estimate.

PS When clicking on the “STB Questionnaire” link it takes me to a login page in Chinese. Or do you only want the views of IE users ?

It tested out fine with Firefox (which to tell you the truth surprised me), so I didn’t think it would be necessary to issue a browser warning. It works fine with IE too.

Thanks to all those who have completed the Taiwan Media Survey to date.

The good news so far is that those who made it through are facing good odds to win one of the prizes.

The bad news from our point of view is that the turnout has been disappointing. The confidence level of our conclusions won’t really be where we want it with only 100+ responses.

Please encourage your friends (living in Taiwan) to take the survey.

And don’t worry, we’re not in the least interested in tracking down people who download movies from the Internet!

Check again. Maybe you’ve spilt beer all over your keyboard again or something. :wink:

I am the prize in a different, more exclusive, poll Sandman.

Regardless, some argue that the Pocket PC and digital camera are worth more than I am.

I’ve asked my colleagues who are responsible for the sunflower yellow interface to close the survey to further responses.

Thanks to all who filled it out and apologies to those who ran into technical difficulties.

I haven’t been able to find out the final count, but I’m guessing we got a few more precious replies after my last desperate post.

We’ll conduct the draw later this week – or next week at the latest. I’ll post here once it’s done. Good luck to Forumosans one and all.

So have the winners been announced? Kozmo is one of them is he/she?

If I got an email entitled “You have won a Pocket PC”, it will have been deleted along with the other 10 I get each day.

Is there a “list” of winners (dunno if 2 really constitutes a list, per se).

As you know, Kozmo won the camera.

The other person who won found out about it on Forumosa, but doesn’t have a screen name and would prefer not to be identified.

I’m afraid Irishstu was not one of them (unless you identify yourself by an entirely different name and are not Irish).
