Test your loyalty to Trump

Someone should make an interactive quiz out of this. Show a Trump statement and let you choose if you support it, then show how Trump has already turned away from that position and got rid of people still holding that position.

Good luck.

An honest politician is an oxymoron.

– Mark Twain

I would have a problem using the word faith. But I have a lot of confidence, and as much trust as one can have towards a politician, in Tsai. I hated her in the beginning but her worked proved me wrong and now I would have total support for her. Faith, I don’t have that in anything or anyone, dangerous to be that extreme (in the strictest sense of the word).

Trump on the other hand d is just plain terrifying. Frkm the get. But is MAGA followers seem to now start seeing the issues. It’s interesting how the democrats messed up the Russia witch hunt with Trump and now he is in bed with them. What a world.

Wasn’t there a thread recently where a few members ranted about how awesome DJT still is?

I love the notions that (1) the Trump people perceive now is somehow not the same person who was there all along, like just because the emperor used to wear clothes that means he didn’t have a body until he took them off, and (2) he only does bad things because his donors make him do those things. That second one is a bit hard to square with the reasons many supporters gave for supporting him in the past.

But never mind that. The real question is, what (if anything) might make you lose faith in him?

What you are talking about has a term, as it happens:

Religion.

They have become a cult/religion.

Like scientology, mormonism or other religious cults, until they arrange your sister’s marriage and fuck your wife, they won’t likely mind it happening to someone else. It is truly mind blowing. From a psychological/sociological perspective.

From an anthropological perspective, it is fascinating how the entire world has total access to witness this mental health issue unravel, this real time evolution, AMAZING. But terrifying we all allow him to have such global power. Not sarcasm.

I’m only going to say this as I’ve lost my appetite for political debates since the recent passing of people that makes me feel like it’s a waste of time.

That is not what I said and it’s a very simplistic way of describing it.

Every president is restricted by their base and coalition of political allies. We just witness what happens when your donors and than political allies abandons you 1 by 1 until it falls apart with Biden. This is not exclusive to anyone.

Trump 1 governed through the Republican Party but Trump 2 now governs the Republican Party. He built his coalition to return to power before he got elected this time, and it’s always transactional when it comes to the people who helped you get into office. Which means paradoxically he gets to do more of what he wants but also less of what he wants as he can’t break away from his allies either this time.

What’s interesting is that his support base is changing under him and quickly. Younger conservatives 35 and under largely see Trump as the man who revived and cracked open conservatism, creating space for a new generation.

For example it used to be blasphemy as a conservative to question NATO, you’d be call unpatriotic if you did that. Or criticizing big corporations. Now conservatives are openly hostile to big pharma, defense contractors, big tech, etc.

This is no longer the boomer Conservative Party lecturing us about morals and family values or trickle down economics. I think this will really play out interestingly in the next election.

this sounds a lot like my gen X lib friends. it’s interesting. but I feel like putting a positive spin on Trump admin “consolidating power” is questionable.

I see the “2.0” (to be fair, same on the democrats side) as zombie apocalypse, addicted to movies and stories in a way that more aligned with OCD rather than simple entertainment. This is worrisome. It’s of course generational. What exactly? Extremism. “ back in the day” people had a somewhat more calmed down version of emotions. I know it does t seem like it based on TV. But how angry people are today. My generation and younger, it is terrifying how emotional they are. Discarding logic and observable reality for freaking out in emotional childish fits. It happens with older folks too. But we are talking scale/ratios now. When a populace becomes extemee (on any end), we are in for a ROUGH ride! Don’t care if one is republican or Democrat. Or liberal or conservative (vastly different terms as the first set is party loyalty the other is ethics loyalty).

It’s sad to see so many people, after a fairly decent evolution of literal agnosticism, become so religious and cult like on just about everything.

We need to teach the children critical thinking and logic. Forget our personal religions and bias. There is literally no other way out of this

To apply for federal jobs these days (in the rare instances where there are openings) you have to write a mini-essay about which is your favorite executive order and how you will support its implementation through your work in the position you’re applying for. No shit.

It’s trickle down without the stated trickle down (cutting taxes on rich with nothing tangible provided for the lower classes whatsoever).

As for morals… what? They’re Christian nationalists. Sure, they’re valueless, but the “Western values” and “retvrn” shit is stronger than ever.

So much for my high school hopes of applying for the state department. Fuck that. Loyalty tests ala USSR abound. Not that that matters, as we’re back to pretending it’s 1776 and the US is somehow magically isolated from the rest of the world despite literally just having fought a bitter war for it’s independence against a power half a world away, thereby pretty much making the state dept useless.

Also doesn’t matter as the US has decided that anything that is mutually beneficial is bad and that all must be at our gain. America first, rah?

Maybe one day this country will be somewhat worth representing again. But I doubt it. Pretty much have given up on it, given effete democrats and the resurgence of Good Ol’ Boy-ism as a national ideology. Thankfully we’re working on destroying the one last good thing about this continent-spanning strip mall (everything has it’s price!) – the nature. Once that’s gone, following the the parcel-ization of already marginal land for exploitation, and the cutting of environmental regulations so the pollution may flow just that much more freely, there will truly be nothing worthwhile left in this country except some of the people.

Don’t give up hope – today’s EO is something everyone can write about happily on an application. (Making Dec 24 and Dec 26 Federal holidays this year).

Hmm, idk why you’d be averse to answering this:

>• “Identify one or two relevant Executive Orders or policy initiatives that are significant to you, and explain how you would help implement them if hired.”

Say you’re interested in working for HHS. The new EO on marijuana is significant if you have relatives who might benefit from drug research based on THC and pain reduction.

Why is it fascist or whatever to say my granny would benefit from a THC based pain reduction cause by her arthritis?

Write on your application how you’re “All in” on the newly named “Trump-Kennedy Center”. Should be guaranteed a job using that approach.

Color me cynical, but I am pretty sure writing about an EO that isn’t straight up a slightly obfuscated tool of political warfare is going to result in your application getting put on the bottom of the pile. It’s their (comically ridiculous) vetting method, and one does not have to be the sharpest tool in the shed to realize it. The writing is on the wall, but one has to get their head out of the sand to see it.

Unless we have been living under a rock, Dear Leader and his top brass are looking for obsequious yes-men that put Trump over country. They want subservient little puppies who can roll over when commanded.

Polls down like crazy, except for the true MAGA’s who still keep their loyalty intact

Yes and no. They most definitely lecture about morals. They just use different language, calling immorality words like leftism and wokeism, which conveniently mean whatever they want the words to mean on any given day. Family values too, but they’ve put the war on pornography etc. on the back burner long enough that people tend to forget it’s there (most probably haven’t read P2025 or the full party platform). Anti-trans is much easier to sell than anti-gay or anti-porn, so that’s the one that gets all the air time. And childless cat ladies have replaced single moms as the ultimate immoral women. Just sayin’.

What?! Americans didn’t have Dec. 26 as a holiday until now? Losers! :winking_face_with_tongue:
