What? Are you kidding? Lassie’s a total sellout. Oh sure, when she she started out with Roddy McDowell she had her technique down. But after that she just kept churning out the sequels, repeating the same pattern, never really challenging herself. What a shame. She could have been one of the greats.
Give me Rin Tin Tin any day. Now THERE’s a method actor. When he barked, you really felt it.
David Hasselhoff: The dream of all German mother-in-laws during the nineties. The singer of those very popular songs that I’ve forgotten the name of :?
I can faintly remember the name, as all this happened before my family had access to private tv channels. Maybe you should ask Rascal, he’s a few years older than I am. But Fredericka is right, he was a big hit in Germany .
So I hear, so I hear. I personally don’t see why. I mean, the packaging does make it look like it would appeal to a certain group of consumers, and perhaps Germans feel that it is a brand of quality and represents some level of sophistication and class, but I myself feel that perhaps, they are a bit overpriced for the average smoker, so as you can probably guess by now, no, I don’t smoke David Hasselhoffs.
I love Hugh Grant’s victorian accent…
and I hate Jim Carrey in the Cable Guy, and the dumb and dumber…
Won’t even watch even if I get paid…
But he earned my new respect in “Majestic”
I’ll probably watch that new “Bruce Almighty” he stars with Morgan Freeman.
OK. This is going to be hard for me to say, so bear with me.
After years of apparent denial and countless expensive and time-consuming psychiatric sessions, my therapist has got me to admit that, yes, David Hasselhoff is, in the strictest and most technical sense, an “actor” and not, i repeat, NOT a brand of cigarettes as I had previously and most stubbornly believed. And yes, he did “act” in that endearing eighties TV show knight rider, and yes, he was also in that, ugh, um, “wonderful” TV series that spawned a fascination for the highly-involving, underappreciated but so-very-honorable profession of lifeguarding, baywatch.
[Here I insert that many a session went to rooting out the source of my trauma (and hence, my david hasselhoff denial) and according to my therapist, much of the problem can be attributed to my exposure to the latter mentioned show.]
And so, yes, David Hasselhoff is an…“actor”. [I still can’t get myself to take off the quotation marks.]
There. I feel better already.
Now, as for his singing career, don’t get me started…
Me neither, Ax. Jim Carrey is the most annoying Canadian alive.
But the phrase should be, “I wouldn’t watch it , even if you paid me.”
Or “You couldn’t pay me to watch it.”
The underlined can be switched out to eat, do, try, etc…
Um, David Hasselhoff also played Snapper, beloved brother of Brock or Jock or Doc, on Young and the Restless in the 70s.
He still maintains a rather envious head of hair to this day.
I just want to understand his magnetic appeal in Germany. Do you think it’s the hair? He’s actually better known as a rock star there, than ACTOR.
Come now Fredericka, certainly there are canadians more annoying than Carrey. Just head down to Citizen Cain and take a pick. [/quote]
Take a look at this:
This SARS thing is getting way out of hand. I just had lunch at Malibu in the Zone. Before I could in I had to wash my subjunctive clause… right there in the middle of the doorway, glad I wore clean undies today.
The original poster mentioned Steven Segal … I saw that twat at CKS a few years back, when he was in town to promote some movie about a tough guy saving the eskimos from the oil industry, or something like that. He was wearing a heavily tassled jacket-like leather thingy, and cowboy boots, and seemed to have trouble passing through immigration. Sadly, he is the only celebrity sighting – good or bad – I have managed in Taiwan.
Partied hard with the boys from pearl jam at Spin once… oh so long ago. No Vedder though.
I’m back here on this thread, however, for a different reason…
If there are any Sylvester Stallone Fans on this form i move that they immeditely be stricken from the ranks. No ifs, annd or buts about it. Just plain and easy, goodbye.
