I’m just trying to throw another perspective on this.
In reality, I don’t really give a shit but I am just trying to shed some light onto the processes that leads to you lighting up the spliff or Kermit preparing his line.
I also think all drugs should be legalised and therefore brought into the light away from the black market.
And you are right, it is none of my business what you put into your body, as long as it doesn’t affect me.

No MT, not from Humboldt, but have some very close friends who reside, farm, and commune in that area. Beautiful area, I would love to move there one day, and before I moved to Taiwan I almost moved there. Damn women… they get you everytime.
But seriously, didnt live there, but nothing put a smile on my face like the monthly fedex guy knocking on my door!! 
I used to up there to help clip and prune during harvesting. Good money and benefits.

One of my friends had a couple of stupid stoned moments that’ve ended up becoming in-jokes that still haven’t died after about 4 years. He used to always go to his kitchen when he was stoned and go make us all Milos. We’d be sitting in the lounge watching a DVD, and then basically every minute after he left, he’d pop his head in the door and go “What?”, having forgotten what he was doing. Every single time. And while he was gone, we’d change the audio track on the DVD to some random language like Finnish or something, and he’d come back, sit down, and take about 20 minutes to finally realise the movie wasn’t in English. And during one of his Milo missions, he opened the fridge door and went to get the milk, then yelled to us that he only had “two chickens of milk in the fridge,” followed by a spirited rendition of “99 Chickens of Milk in the Fridge” (to the tune, obviously, of “99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall”).
The craving for marijuana is often actually just the expression of depresion. There are better drugs for that.
Depression plays a huge role in drug abuse, both cause and effect.
That said, I think if marijuana were a legal medicine it might well be prescribed for mild, occasional depression. It doesn’t last long and daily use would be too disabling - the point of treating depression is letting the patient be themself as much of the time as possible. But on the other hand, its side effects are preferable to those of many antidepressants.

your name is well deserved. Walking a property with open wells in pitch dark is something I would avoid cold sober, whether or not I knew their locations. Or was the moon bright enough to make it safe? I could easily imagine a strong dose causing what you experienced. Every “too far” story I’ve heard about cannabis involved eating it (or alcohol).
This thing about pot smokers causing crime though… I don’t doubt that pot smugglers these days are probably violent people (or are they? read “Mr. Nice,” the autobiography of Britain’s biggest hashish smuggler ever, I don’t think he’d kill a fly). The obvious solution to this is legalization, which would be a huge blow to criminals. On the other hand, a pot smoker quitting doesn’t make a big difference. If I were walking down the street past a violent criminal I would wish fervently he were smoking a joint, it just makes most people more peaceful.
Do you consider all laws morally binding? Clearly people are punished for cannabis… it is the right thing for one’s family, for instance, not to grow marijuana, because one might be imprisoned, hurting them.
But is it the right thing for society? Shouldn’t laws which restrict our freedoms without a proportional benefit be disobeyed, for the greater good?

Bob, I have agreed with many of your posts, but I have no clue where this came from. I see no connection what so ever… Why?? because I crave it, and I am in no way depressed, nor do I have any reason to be depressed. I hope your are not serious on this one.
Absolutely serious although I think it is sometimes difficult to remember that drugs affect different people differently. It may not be true of you but a lot of heavy users experience severe cravings if they are suddenly cut off. These same people will complain of boredom, irritability and depression. Cure the depression and the boredom and you have gone a long way toward curing the cravings. This is just based on what I have seen myself, but to be sure I have seen one heck of a lot of pot heads in my life.
no matter how you look at it drugs are bad. drugs are the leading cause of bad poetry, improper use of food and impregnation of fat women.
