There are no authenticated studies anyways, if using masks at such a large scale in public, for inhalation. They were designed not to spread your germs in the surgery room hence the name. No definitive studies which say they act as an effective inhalation barrier.
Plus what we read before …think about the usage procedure. if a mask indeed does stop the virus droplets, your mask will catch them on the outer surface. Lots of people don’t use masks correctly. You’ll basically transfer the virus to your hand, or inside your pockets, etc.
Pro tip: If any of you are still short of masks, you can easily make your own, with a better fit for western faces. For best results, make sure you use medical grade filter paper. If you don’t have any at home, you can use the insides of vacuum cleaner bags (preferably unused) or air-conditioning filters, both of which have a slightly lower efficiency.
What? Last call?? As in, last call to register…? People who CAN or HAVE registered are only allowed to buy three masks, no? Sooooo is this whole situation just a one-time thing?
I didn’t know that either! I’m pretty sure it wasn’t widely reported when the system was first announced last week?
So they did all this for a one-time purchase of 3 lousy masks? I actually ordered a card reader on Shopee a few days ago but it’s still on its way. If I’d have known this was the case I wouldn’t have bothered.
The line at the pharmacy this morning was longer than before. Showed up at 7:20 for 7:30 tickets used for layer pick up. No problem today but I wonder about going forward. I can see why some Taiwanese would be displeased about mask donations to America.
