sigh
It’s not to protect you, it’s to protect others from asymptomatic carriers.
Obtuse and absurd.

This.
One key for all of us is to act like we ourselves have the virus: and how can we best protect those around us?
Don’t you think doctors would know that ? Which is why healthcare professionals and anyone in a clinical environment needs it.
Read what the evidence is: https://www.kcra.com/amp/article/what-to-know-about-coronavirus-face-masks-and-social-distancing/31710885
Which is none, for masks even for asymptomatic carriers. They’ll most likely spread it by touching surfaces. We have some evidence now that social distancing helps. There’s no evidence large scale use of masks in public is beneficial. What actually helps is “washing your hands”.
Simply thinking it’s “common sense” and that you’re protecting others may feel good but it doesn’t work. Feel free to keep wearing it but creating a hysteria that you must have them is not productive
Don’t listen to the British on this for God’s sake.
Until two days ago they were talking about killing a minimum of 250k of their own citizens as being their smart strategy.
There’s plenty of evidence that wearing masks helps, there are many references up thread.
How do you stick your fingers in your mouth or nose when you are wearing a mask ?
Game over.
Well I listen to Science and evidence based reasoning. Neither the British per se, nor random people.
Listen to experts people. Atleast if majority of peers in a field agree on something, they must be knowing more than you or me. Please get your own advice from experts… I urge you to talk to a doctor working on infectious diseases and see what they say.
I’m pretty sure my scientific training in this general area is far and above yours. ,
sure. jubilations to you. We still don’t see any evidence of your claims.
Up thread…Search …Not posting for you if you re too lazy.
There’s no majority of experts agreeing about not wearing masks. What are you on about ?
Just stating that it’s there doesn’t make it so. I followed it. I’m not lazy unlike you. IF the evidence was there, we’d easily see validated multiple studies in the medical journals stating it… why would it be hidden? fact is they’re not. you just want to think they exist.
Talk to a doctor and you’ll know what I am on about. I have… have you?
How do you stick your fingers into your nose and mouth when wearing a mask ?
It’s pretty damn simple. You can’t.
Doctors and nurses advocate wearing masks, they just want to maintain supply for themselves when supply is lacking.
Word! I posted this as soon as I could. Instructions (in English, also Thai and Vietnamese). Provided by my uni in an email completely written in Chinese
(差不多
). ASSUMES we all have card readers!
P.S. I have seen card readers super cheap in 2nd hand stores. Presumably also in some 3C stores.
Instructions
You obviously don’t understand the context, as you’ve proven multiple times…just keep digging without evidence.
Anyways, enjoy and stay safe and healthy.
Context of what.
It’s up to you to come up with reasons why not wearing a mask is better than wearing a mask.
Point No.1
A mask stops you sticking your fingers in your nose and mouth…Now how does not wearing a mask stop you doing that ?
Point no 2, why do medics wear masks for over one hundred years ?
DO YOU WANT TO KNOW THE ONLY REASON?
No it’s not because their breath smells. It’s to reduce transmission of infectious diseases.
Point No 3 , water droplets can’t pass through a mask and masks have been found to reduce small particle transmission in research studies.
Game over mate…Game over.
Stand in front of a coughing maskless guy on the MRT and have a nice day.
Thanks for that. And…it turns out that I actually already had a smart card reader…on my desktop computer (oops - I bought it second hand a couple of years ago and knew there was a card reader in there but thought it was just for memory cards and have never looked closely).
Anyway, I followed the registration instructions tonight with my girlfriend’s NHI card, got informed in the final step of the process that I should be using Internet Explorer rather than Chrome (got to love Taiwanese websites), followed them again and successfully registered, to be told that ordering stopped at 8 p.m. (I was hoping it might be midnight, or tomorrow morning).
In conclusion, I now have two card readers I don’t need and exactly the same number of face masks. Good stuff.
In all likelihood our department office computer also has this kind of card reader. But with hardware and software and browser constraints … 太麻煩!!
For those who ordered masks online or through the NHI app, they’ve sent out payment notification to your registered e-mail. So… you have until 8:00PM Mar 21 to pay, and you won’t be able to lookup whether or not your payment went through until 8:00AM Mar 22. Why? Who knows…
How about Brexit? Is that smart?
Uh-oh…
