No, within 30 days of moving home (not arriving in Taiwan). If you don’t have a home you don"t need to provide the address. For instance when you make short trips without establishing a home, there is no need to do anything.
Hi all.
So roughly two weeks ago my Gold Card application status finally changed to re-review by NIA after skipping the MFA passport verification (I am already in Taiwan on a short-term visa for research) and I expected to collect the card by now but then got asked to upload a proof of address in Taiwan. Which I did (uploaded my lease), however, after that the application status went all the way back to Initial Review by NIA with the 補正後初審中 as processing status… The help desk (that has been very helpful up till now) said it does not necessarily mean that my application is being re-assessed from the start but I can’t help but worry (it’s been more than a week since I uploaded the lease and almost two since the status changed to re-review).
Does anyone has experience with being asked for supplemental documents (proof of address) at the re-review stage?
ps. I have no connection to Mainland China if that matters

I did! I actually just got the notice. I only got it for three months though; I think my country had a lot of applications. Planning on using it for next spring.

I will need to renew my Gold Card before applying for APRC in December when my Gold Card expires. How early may we renew the Gold Card? If I recall correctly we may renew the Gold Card as early as 4 months before expiration. Is this correct and up-to-date information? My Gold Card expires mid December. Thanks in advance.
Yes, but the system only allows 4 months less one day (within 4 months).
Yeah 4 months before expiration, I’d recommend applying for an extension as soon as the online system allows as the 2nd Gold Card will start from when the 1st Gold Card expires so you don’t lose any of the duration.

That group is run by a number of community members, all the join requests should be done now.
There is also a Facebook group which is run by the Gold Card office, I believe the link to join is in the email sent by NIA when approved.
Two questions:
1. if I’m employed by a subsidiary of a regulated financial institution, but the standalone subsiary entity itself is not a financial institution and is not regulated, can I still qualify under Finance track?
- Under Finance track 2, if I hold manager title for 3 years in a financial institution many years ago but I am only a qualified accountant, can this be acceptable? the long list under track 2 includes Risk, Actuary, financial analyst qualifications but is silent on accountant

Out of curiosity, how long do extension applications usually take to review?
I’ve seen as fast as 1 day (education category with PhD) to as slow as many months.
Mine took a month to renew (science & technology category). There’s an extra round trip to science & tech department for review. This was about 3 years ago. Back then some categories did not have to do an extra round trip to a different department for review.
Anyone here that has found a job whilst in Taiwan? Or are most of the Gold Card holders here either remote or on some kind of expat package or transfer?
Going to head out to Taipei in a bit and looking around for opportunities. Are people just using the regular job board sites or are there are methods I don’t know about? Would like to try to get a job locally in Taipei for a while, see what’s what.
I think it really depends on what you do for a living, what country you’re from, and your Chinese langauge skills.
Personally, I have clients in my home country.
I could try to build a local client base… but then I would have to reduce my fees, and take on the cost of office space. I’d probably also have to relocate from Kaohsiung to Taipei… so have decided against it.
I agree, considering I work in IT and my Chinese language skills are at B2 at best, I don’t think my odds are too good. I’ll keep looking around though, you never know what might pop up. I wouldn’t want to work at a local company anyway, ideally I’d work in a international team where the language skill is not such a big problem.
