The Filthy Biden Family Thread

So the system works? Works just fine?

Scamming foreigners out of millions by pretending to influence peddle is just as much a crime as actual influence peddling, especially when you skip paying taxes on the scammed millions:

That Mr. Biden was even facing trial at all was not the outcome David C. Weiss, the special counsel overseeing the case, or Mr. Biden expected — or wanted.

A deal reached in early 2023 that would have granted Mr. Biden broad immunity from future prosecution imploded under intense questioning from a federal judge in Wilmington, Del., that July. The collapse of the deal prompted Mr. Weiss, the U.S. attorney in Delaware, to request appointment as special counsel. . . .

The two deputies to Mr. Weiss who are handling the case, Leo J. Wise and Derek Hines, have indicated in recent court filings that they intend to mount an aggressive prosecution by documenting how foreign interests paid Mr. Biden to influence the U.S. government while his father was vice president.

Judge lays out schedule for Hunter Biden’s tax trial at tense hearing (msn.com)

The hearing Wednesday was scheduled to discuss what evidence could be presented to the jury at trial. Geragos was seeking permission to include evidence of traumas that contributed to Biden’s addiction problems — the death of his mother and sister in a car accident when he was three years old and in the same car, and the death of his brother Beau Biden from cancer in 2015.

“The DOJ wants to paint a picture of a guy without a care in the world, partying at Chateau Marmont, without giving context as to what from his past may have affected him,” Geragos told the judge, and that would be a form of “character assassination.”

Wise argued that the causes of Biden’s drug use were irrelevant to the case.
“No matter how many drugs you take, you don’t forget that you owe millions of dollars in taxes,” the prosecutor said.
The judge ultimately sided with the prosecution by prohibiting any mention of the 1972 car accident and limiting testimony around Beau Biden’s death.

Poor poor, wealthy celebrity dipshit. He had it rough. :sob:

Well well. Someone doesn’t want something to come out.

Hunter Biden Agrees to Surprise Guilty Plea in Tax Case (msn.com)

But will it work?

In surprise move, Hunter Biden pleads guilty to all tax charges with sentencing set for Dec. 16 (msn.com)

Jonathan Turley: ‘They have placed Hunter Biden in the worst possible position’ | Watch (msn.com)

Hunter Biden pleaded guilty on Thursday to nine federal tax charges in Los Angeles after telling his legal team that he refused to subject his family to another round of anguish and humiliation after a gut-wrenching gun trial in Delaware three months ago. . .

He will remain free on bond until his sentencing hearing in mid-December.

The plea now exposes President Biden’s son to a likely outcome that seemed unthinkable last year, when his lawyers were on the cusp of a no-prison plea agreement: significant time behind bars. He now faces a maximum prison sentence of up to 17 years or a fine of up to $1.3 million, on top of the possible sentence of 25 years after being convicted of lying on a firearms application in Delaware in June.

It does not appear, at least for now, that he is banking on a parental executive reprieve. As Hunter Biden’s team appeared in court, listening while every word of his 56-page criminal indictment was read back to him, the White House press secretary told reporters on Air Force One, “It’s still very much a no,” when asked if the president planned to pardon his son.

It’ll be tight but mid-December still leaves enough time for a pardon before Joe leaves for the glue factory on January 20. Can’t waste any time on anything like a trial though or it’ll be too late.

Of course Joe is going to issue a blanket pardon of Hunter before he leaves now that he has nothing to lose, showing once again that the system works.

During a House Oversight Committee hearing that was intended to highlight “failures and incompetencies” of the Biden administration, Moskowitz delivered a lengthy list of all the mistakes he said Comer made during his impeachment probe of the president.
“Let’s remember: We misplaced an informant over a year ago, couldn’t find him, didn’t know where he went,” he began. “Another informant was indicted for providing false information that came from Russian intelligence. We used a second informant… who turned out to be an indicted Chinese foreign agent. And to top it off, the chairman [Comer] was like, ‘Who could we find to make it even better? Maybe we can get someone to testify from prison!’ Which, actually, we did hear.”
Moskowitz then noted that Comer’s final impeachment report on President Joe Biden stated that it was “the strongest case for impeachment of a sitting president” in American history.
Were that the case, said Moskowitz, shouldn’t there have been a vote on impeaching Biden in the House of Representatives?

Remind me again, with the “strongest case for impeachment of a sitting US President” in American history, why the GOP reps in the House were not willing to go forward with impeachment?
1: They’re too afraid to do their duty because it will cost them when people see the incompetence caused by their clown show.
2: They’re too stupid to find any evidence after four years of investigation- Dark Brandon has outwitted them all.
3: I’ll happily entertain any other possibilities, but not holding my breath. And before you present these mountains of evidence, please explain why the Republicans won’t impeach Biden and present said evidence.

Maybe they’re trying to figure out how to make this Harris’ fault

I’m still wondering who “the big guy” is that “H” was supposedly holding 10 for.

The simple and obvious answer, surely, is that it’s not in their interests - or, perhaps more specifically, that the fallout from Biden’s impeachment would be somewhat unpredictable and awkward to stage-manage.

The whole shitstorm around these despicable characters is more useful as-is than its resolution might be. What would be the point of putting some senile old codger in the dock and asking him questions, when he can’t even remember his own name or where the toilet is - and when he’s nothing more than a sockpuppet anyway? Everyone almost certainly knew what a massive bunch of crooks these people were when Biden was put into the big chair in the first place; but the plan moves on, Biden has served his purpose, and all that’s really important here is that the managed handover of power has a nice backdrop of corruption behind the outgoing faces, so that people can believe that all is once again right with the world.

Nah— it’s because Biden and his filthy family are totes legit, there was never no money or pay to play.

No shell companies or con jobs. No million dollar transactions.

Nah—

And the GOP should be called the gutless old pussies.

The last act of the Biden family business is for Hunter to position himself for a pardon before his dad leaves office - either feet first or because the clock runs out. Hunter is surprising everyone by suddenly pleading guilty to everything he’s being charged with rather than fighting the charges in court in long, drawn out court battles that would take years. Right now it’s looking like all his guilty pleas and resulting sentences will be finalized sometime in late December, which will leave “the big guy” just enough time to pardon “H” before he leaves office and prove once again “that the system works.”

Can’t get pardoned without a conviction and an appeal in the bank I believe.

You don’t need a conviction, or sentences finalized for pardons. You don’t even need charges filed. See Nixon.

Gonna look pretty bad if he gets a pardon before a conviction— which was my point. Already been lots of articles written about this.

Pardoning Hunter before the election would only cost Democrats votes so why do it? Trump would make it a major issue about there being a double legal legal standard being used against him. Issuing a pardon too soon after Harris is elected would look like the electorate had been hoodwinked. Another factor is Hunter may not even get any jailtime as a first time offender so waste political capital for nothing?

But he CAN, you know, apparently, if you dismiss all that other stuff. See Nixon.

If Nixon had pardoned himself before resigning it would have been more like the current situation. After all, some of Hunter’s alleged crimes have “the big guy’s” fingerprints all over them. The “big guy” issuing a blanket pardon to “H” smacks of self-interest.

Nobody is suggesting he should. Me, specifically, I’m just responding to suggestions that the sentencing is going to be done just in time for a pardon, or that a conviction needs to be place for one. He can be pardoned at any time.

Another thread set straight!
