Henry Allingham, the oldest British survivor is still alive and kicking. Allingham famously credits “cigarettes, whisky and wild, wild women—and a good sense of humour” for his longevity.
From the title of this post, I was led to believe we’re supposed to predict 5 famous people that will die in 2008?
So here these are my guesses:
Ross Perot
Angela Lansbury
Stan Lee
Jimmy Page
Arnold Palmer
I’ll buy a tall can of Taiwan beer for each entry that expires after today’s date.
Here are mine:
1.Amy Winehouse (should be on the top of everyone’s list)
2.One of the Rolling Stones (has to happen sometime)
3.Michael Jackson (a bit of a long shot)
4.Jenna Jameson (porn stars don’t age well)
5.Fidel Castro (he’s still alive, right?)
Nice touch journalism. Blame it on the girlfriend. Tsk Tsk

Well, some ex-girlfriends/wives are much more supportive in their ex-relation’s time of need. For example, Jane Birkin would still watch over Serge Gainsbourg years after their divorce, even when he was living with other women and smoking/drinking himself to death. She would bring him food, make sure he getting exercise etc. Then again, he had written many songs for her.
Some women are just born nurturers…some aren’t. I know which kind I prefer. I like to be mothered.
A long time fixture for Canadian broadcasting has passed away. If you lived in Canada and listened to or watched sports on TV, it was impossible not to hear this man’s voice.
WINNIPEG - Don Wittman, whose smooth baritone voice called some of Canada’s most significant sports, has died of cancer. He was 71.
For more than 40 years, Wittman was a familiar face on CBC television. He did the play-by-play for Grey Cups and Stanley Cups, plus covered curling, golf and track and field. He was a fixture at both summer and winter Olympics.
A fixture on the Albertan political scene also passed away. Way too young!
Just listened to most of their music and read his biography etc. My French flatemates at university in Europe got me hooked on Gainsbourg. Birkin is so beautiful (love her white outfit in this video).

I’d love to see Michael Jackson have a successful comeback tour this year. I think the world is ready.
Fidel Castro, yes he’s still alive but I reckon you’ve got a shoe-in on that one there because he’s been teetering on the edge for some time now.
