The peak nostalgia thread

How about the coin-operated ones? Even smaller iirc.

Uh…wrong planet?

Music reactors on YouTube (if you don’t know, they’re mostly younger people saying how great old music was so they can suck out donations from us nostalgic
oldies).
It’s funny to hear then misinterpret older lyrics. Heard one listening to the Animals’ “We Got to Get Out of This Place”:

In this dirty old part of the city
Where the sun refused to shine
People tell me there ain’t no use in tryin’

Now my girl, you’re so young and pretty
And one thing I know is true
You’ll be dead before your time is due, I know

Watch my daddy in bed a-dyin’
Watched his hair been turnin’ grey
He’s been workin’ and slavin’ his life away, oh yes I know it

And I’ve been workin’ too, baby (yeah!)
Every night and day (yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!)

We gotta get out of this place
If it’s the last thing we ever do
We gotta get out of this place
'Cause girl, there’s a better life for me and you

And the girl reactor saying “I just love 60s music-it’s so bright and bouncy!” and the guy saying “yeah, it’s always got that happy feeling.”

Well, that answers this question…

…who remembers them? Obviously not Milko! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

What planet is that? Looks really strange.

(reply to the original post here, not sure why it didn’t reply directly. And anyways, think things got off topic a bit)
I’ve thought about this one for sure.
When people paint an amazing picture of (choose a decade).
They forget all the shit that was happening during that timeframe. Every decade has its ups and downs.

In terms of products, I’d say its possible that they just run out of ideas so they recycle old ones. Movies for sure! Tons of remakes of classics the past decade or so. Even if the movie sucks, people will go to it cause they want to relive part of the story line again. Easier to get views that way rather than coming up with something from scratch and try to captivate people.

I don’t think I had much concept of money back then.

Huh, I knew something was up when the tv trays came out. We poor, I thought.

I used to look forward to TV dinner night

For me a TV dinner was a rare unhealthy treat because I just got healthy hippy food at home.

We had solid Italian-American/American food served up by excellent cooks, but I still liked them!
