The US Midterm Elections: 2022

I see China and Russia crumbling and the US thriving. I see our allies waking up to the common threat and getting their shit together. I see landmark bipartisan legislative achievements. What happened to all those voices saying we need to look to China for a better way to govern? Or they will out compete us with the belt and road initiative? That’s all falling apart now.

Oh am I personally better off? Yes I am, but I don’t put all of my vote on how I’m personally doing. Government doesn’t control every aspect of my personal wellbeing.

Divided government is great if there is bipartisanship, compromise. Hopefully with a slim majority and a divided GOP they will be forced to work with Democrats. This is a good thing.

RCP: What Happened? ANALYSIS

Good points all.

The filibuster already created a de-facto divided government and majority of the bills passed over the last 2 years were already bipartisan.

America is a bad marriage. Pipe dreams about forcing one side into submission are a recipe for disaster.

Will wait for the conspiracy claims of a rigged election

It’s down to the last few races being called. In Alaska, Murkowski is re-elected and Peltola beat Palin, the former governor and VP candidate.

I strongly support your right to wear what you want (beware of transphobe mass murderers, though),

Truest thing I ever heard Dr. Milker say.

Everything I say is sarcastic, and thus equally true and false. @MikeN1, on the other hand, is deadly serious in his wrong opinions and bad takes.

Really? We hadn’t noticed.

Wrong opinions…

So MikeN1 is guilty of wrongthink?

Yes. That’s why he’s been exiled to the wilds of Taitung County. :slightly_smiling_face:

If only we could all live in Taitung. Can I be exiled too?

Sure, just a few more bad opinions and you’re good to go. :airplane:

Too many damn exiles these days.

That number of people who think elections are being botched is not moving in the right direction. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

The last round. Difficult to understand why this is even a contest.

They’re both placeholders as far as I can tell.

And the midterms are finally over.

Walker was a historically terrible candidate. Might’ve been closer if the GOP nominated someone who wasn’t clearly suffering from CTE.

A couple more body blows for Trump.

Hopefully enough to put him out for the count. But probably not judging from recent history.
