This Week’s WTF Story Award Goes to… (2024 edition)

That’s a lot of chicken wings

And of course, it just had to be chicken wings! Not steak, not burgers, not spaghetti, but chicken wings. She apparently had a serious gambling problem and stole the chicken wings to sell to others to support her gambling habit.

With Thief

“I’ll pay for the wings that she stole to get her free,” Jones wrote on X on Tuesday.

Time to schedule a CAT scan.

Denmarks food must be very bland.

Scandinavian food is basically potatoes and meat with little to no seasoning. It’s even worse than British food.

I’m glad you agree with Tim Walz: “Black pepper is the top of the spice level in Minnesota.”

I’m not sure I know enough about Tim Walz to agree with him, but if I were forced to choose a restaurant location, I’d probably pick Minnesota over anywhere in Scandinavia. At least the food would have some grease in it.

Here’s a watermelon specific stab at a WTF story. :joy:

Guy

Must’ve melted in the hot weather…

Yes those notorious melting “watermelons” can really be a problem. :joy:

Guy

The cool kids just say “watermeltons”.

There were several bone flaps with incomplete or missing patient identification, but we could not be certain which if any of these belonged to Mr. Cluster.

What a complete clusterf*ck.

Man blowing bubbles fined for littering

Someone listened to the second Velvet Underground album, took notes, and re-enacted the plot of “The Gift,” in real life.

It’s a little confusing to non-Australians (and possibly some Australians).
The quoll is a marsupial mammal which has been wiped out on the maainland by introduced foxes- now it only survives in Tasmania.
Now it has been re-introduced in swampy areas surrounded by fox-proof fences.
However , that produced another problem- long-necked turtles are safe from foxes, but are cut off from vital water supplies outside the wire fences, which they can’t climb. So the conservation officers had to build water-filled tunnels the foxes couldn’t swim through, and then lead the turtles to the tunnels and teach them how to swim through.

Poor baby :anguished:

Jesus.

My first instinct was that this man may be a PRC national attempting to harm / harass another PRC national in Australia. That would be a familiar playbook in recent years, especially given how systematically the assailant moved across Australia and then flew out of the country.

But some video footage with the parents of the scalded baby indicate they are white folks, distraught by what happened. What’s the motive then?

Guy

This is such an odd case. What a press conference!
