Too hot, too sunny, too humid ... the weather sucks 2011

Baishawan?

I forgot how much I really hate summer in Taiwan. June always reminds me bluntly.

I’m fine by the summers in Taiwan (and Xiamen, same same), but I dislike teaching in non-air conditioned classrooms, which get as hot as 38-40c.

I live 5 minutes from the beach, so I’m jiggy with putting on my trunks and having a swim when the heat gets too much.

Good Lordy, is black as midnight outside, except for a couple of lethal looking streaks of lighting. It is pouring with a vengance, too.

I sent that weather on up from xinzhu. It been pouring all morning here.

this is a really strong one, getting lots of flashes and thunder very close around here (live besides some hills), fantastic

Been raining for more than 24 hours non-stop in Tainan. Bit unusual for us. I don’t really mind it so much, except the drive to school is a bit of a bugger.

At noon, I was watching the news with images of flooding in Nantou and Miaoli -central/northern Taiwan. I didn’t know the rain was so heavy also in Tainan, Biz. Take care driving.

So we escaped the typhoon but rain is here to stay. Forecast is rainy all week.

Cheers, Icon. Will do.

It is too hot for man or beast out there. Had to give a bath to Bobby this morning as he was so hot he rolled in dirt to cool down… Poor thing is no longer a 20 minute dog, but rather, after walking 15 minutes, he just falls splat on the floor and splays like a sunny side up egg.

So now the pets are enjoying air conditioning and fan -though I am a bit worried, what if they catch fire? Eitehr choice -air, no air- is not without its dangers.

Weather especialists predict temperatures will rise above 40 later this month.

Why do you have flammable pets?

Above 40? Has it ever been above 40 in Taiwan? Take care all. I was going to brag about my summer in Alaska and now Vancouver but not if y’all are really suffering over there.

It’s fine down here. Not too hot. Perfect beach weather, actually.

37 degrees yesterday in Taipei… at least better than some places in US at 49 degrees.

It was a scorcher yesterday in Xiamen - about the same as Taipei. Real feel 45 degrees. I went out from 2pm - 3pm, and melted. I ran from taxi to mall to taxi to home. Last night was pleasant though, some nice sea breezes ruffling the feathers…

I attempted a quick trip to browse around a bit at the computer market in Taipei this aftenroon. MISTAKE. Holy crap it’s sweltering.

Still hot out there today? I refuse to leave my AC-ed apartment until the sun sets.

Few cartoons from the US:

According to teh news, we’ll have a serious drop to the 20s in acouple of days. Keep a jacket or windbreaker handy at the office/workplac so you will not be caught unprepared.

Finally, we are finally leaving summer behind!!!
