You’ll probably be the only Forumosan in attendance. Be sure to be a good ambassador. ![]()
Well firstly, not everyone skeptical about the merits of this case and the precedent it sets are Trump supporters, plenty of Trump hating, Hillary and Biden supporters in that camp. It seems the “why are people sticking up for Trump” crowd on here haven’t considered that possibility and instead lumped them all into the Trump camp.
Second, I listened to some opinions from the legal folks and posted what they were saying based on what they speculate, until we see the indictment, no need to link lots of further speculation when we only need to wait until next Tuesday to see what it is.
I don’t get the frothing at the mouth about Putin and if you are intending to call out particular Forumosans for whatever reason it would be polite to quote them so we all know who you are talking about rather than calling everyone posting this and that with sweeping generalizations and we don’t know who in particular you have an issue with or why. It just comes across as name calling.
I respect differences of political opinion, but if one cares to go there, what I don’t understand is how anyone could stick up for the Democrats at this point. Disgusting.
Well that’s another thing, but as one of the mods on here if people are staring to call all the posters on here Trump supporters, then I’d like to know who they are talking about.
I wouldn’t care if trump supporters did voice their opinion, but what I am mostly seeing is the opinion it’s a shit case and sets a bad precedent. An opinion I am seeing from many liberals and Trump hating, Clinton and Biden voters too.
They usually go on to say other cases against Trump have more merit. But that opinion hardly makes them a “Trumpista”.
Yes, that’s certainly true. Far be it from me to call everyone Democrat supporters either ![]()
People in ideological boxes tend to automatically put other people in ideological boxes. It’s human nature, and of course exacerbated by the polarized state of American (and Western) politics at present.
Give me a Meloni, Berlusconi or a De Gasperi over Biden or Trudeau any day.
I struggle to understand how we cannot agree on such a simple truism. I guess this type of thinking is ideal to those (like Trump) who see everyone as a possible mark. Or, perhaps it is ideal thinking for those who are shitty themselves and are in a (deep
) state of denial?
How about South Korea?
Doesn’t seem like the place is falling apart either.
I know people here have the brain cells to grasp that Trump has used his political career as a way to shield himself from his dubious past and shady present. It is the ultimate character laundering scheme – become popular enough with the masses, and not only can you continue being a dirty son of a bitch, but now you gain the shield and sword of crying “political persecution” when you (and its been a long time coming) get called out on your shit, and threaten to blow everything up with you should you go down. Sounds like the leader we need!
People on this thread who are cynically and categorically dismissing the legitimacy of the case against him are at least indirectly enabling this idiotic exploit to continue to fester. The fucker is surely not a victim, like he and the deep pockets behind him want you to believe. He made his bed, now time to lie in it.
Yup, and we’ll see if he can roll his fat ass out of it Tuesday morning.
Is it possible that some doubting the strength of the case have been listening to legal scholars?
That last one with Bill Barr you might try to call him Trumps personal attorney, which while that seemed to stick while he was dismissing the Mueller team, rightfully so as most people now acknowledge, he’s no fan of Trump. I could go on listing highly qualified legal experts who make the claim the case is between weak and non existent.
I don’t know why you make the claim that people in this thread who have been listening to these legal experts are being cynical.
But better to wait till Tuesday, when we have the charges, because that’s what all these legal experts are saying too.
Opposing the politicization of the legal system and supporting Trump aren’t the same thing. That’s a false equivalence. If some red state were prosecuting Biden on some flimsy, politically motivated charge I’d be equally against that too for the same reason.
“I don’t understand why Bragg is putting such emphasis on this case. A person breaks the law I get it, but on the state side this is a misdemeanor case. It’s really a federal case because he needs it to be a campaign finance fraud case which is a federal case and that’s what Bragg is going to have to do to get a felony out of this. I think it’s all politics and that’s what I think the people of this country are saying. It just feeds that anger and that cynicism and the partisanship. It’s a coincidence that Bragg goes after Trump and Tish James goes after Trump and Georgia goes after Trump? That’s all a coincidence? I think it feeds the cynicism and that’s the cancer in our body politic right now.”
– Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo
Fuck Cuomo. He systematically killed old poor people using State power and got booted for feeling up his assistant. ![]()
Of course he’s against political blacklisting.
Why isn’t New York State prosecuting him for killing old people and groping women in the work place?
Politics.
Adolph Hitler was on trial about April 1 1924 and turned the witness chair into a pulpit. Even the judge let Hitler harangue endlessly because Hitler made so many points that resonated with the court and everyone else in the court
The judge was obligated to sentence him. In prison, Hitler dictated Mein Kampf to Rudolph Hess. It became a bestseller
Trump can do similar. Turn a trial into media time he doesn’t have to pay for
Look at how lib hero Jussie Smollett loves the spotlight
*Where’s the Wall Trump promised?
He had 4 years to just build a wall!
Lincoln fought the civil war in 4 years.
FDR fought WW2 in 4.
Wilson fought WW1 in 2.*
I’d guess the only reply might be Trump lemmings whining that Congress blocked Trump. Well hello the President’s job is to persuade Congress.
What is the Epitome of inability to work with Congress? Obviously Getting your impeached.
The Messiah of Trump apostles got impeached as many times in 1 year as all the presidents in all the history of the United States
Oh please, let Trump dictate a book from prison.
“It’s a terrible prison, a terrible place, but I have --you know me, I have a good cell, the best cell really, cuz I can make it WORK – it comes with two stainless steel toilets, the best made in America --one for my fat ass and one for my fat mouth.”
How is it a truism? The overwhelming majority of criminal acts are never successfully prosecuted. Smart criminals don’t get caught in the first place.
As I said earlier, there are plenty of people walking around free today who guilty of corruption and theft on a mind-boggling scale. People who have stolen or skimmed billions, have destroyed millions of lives, or have subverted entire institutions for personal gain, and are at zero risk of the police knocking on the door. Cuomo, as mentioned above, quite literally arranged for people to die, simply because he thought it would be a laugh to play doctor. And people are worried about what Trump does with his mushroom? Really? It seems pretty obvious to me that the latter is nothing more than a distraction from actual crimes. And the sad thing is, it’s working.
now that’s cursed ![]()
Found a better one.
When Pooh met Schroomy should be a great movie.
