Tucker Carlson

Immediately after the election, Tucker claimed

The outcome of our presidential election was seized from the hands of voters, where it rightly belongs, and now resides in the control of lawyers and courts – and highly partisan, clearly corrupt big city bureaucrats.

No matter what happens next, that is a tragedy. Many Americans will never again accept the results of a presidential election.

The clip can still be seen on the Fox news website.

It wasn’t until almost 2 weeks later that he changed his tune and demanded Sidney Powell to present her evidence. Prior to that it Tucker didn’t shy away from the alleged election fraud, dead man voted propaganda that Trump advisers were peddling.

He also said this on his show on Nov 23, after his text to Laura Ingraham saying he caught Sidney Powell lying.

You’ve heard a lot over the past few days about the security of our electronic voting machines. This is a real issue, no matter who raises it or who tries to dismiss it out of hand as a conspiracy theory. Electronic voting is not as secure as traditional hand counting. Period. It never will be as secure.

Be nice if he didn’t categorically refer to them (socialists and to a much more dogwhistled degree the blacks) as the Boogeyman all the rest of the time. Look, broken clock right twice a day, but he is by no means the anti-establishment independent thinker you’re portraying him to be. As soon as he realized the potential of Donnie to create a new establishment – which he objectively has, or fox wouldn’t have ended up spending so goddamn much effort, time, and money on intentionally spreading the lie he lost – it didn’t take Bow Tie Tucker long to go and latch on like the spineless little leech he is. He has been in it for the big money the whole time and all the bullshit he’s peddled in the last year has just been pandering to the new establishment of paranoid-conspiratorial Trumpism, including the neo-isolationist aspects of it. And he’s for censorship, until it comes to the textbooks and libraries of schools in conservative areas which are being purged of anything left of the CSA. He’s a marionette boot-licker.

There are rumors that Tucker is going to take over Don’s old time slot at CNN. Now that would really be something.

Holy God that would be hilarious. You thought the last guy was misogynistic? Well just fuckin wait :rofl:

He’s on the CNN front page as a “right wing extremist out at Fox News” so that would be a stupid move to then give him a platform.

Perhaps the revelation that he hated Trump would’ve been extra embarrassing once Trump returns as the 2024 nominee.

Maybe ideologically (although the new management is a bit more conservative than the old guard), but not from a ratings point of view. CNN needs all the help it can get at this point.

All cable news needs help that’s what got Fox in this mess. Only people over 60 actually watch this stuff.

I doubt many of his old fans will follow Tucker Carlson to CNN. Regardless, I’m so tired of pundits and opinion shows on News channels. Why are people willingly subjecting themselves to it?

Don’t see why not. If they like what he’s saying, it probably won’t matter where he’s saying it.

You mean he will continue to claim all electronic voting machines are inherently untrustworthy and many Americans will never again accept the results of a presidential election on CNN?

I doubt it, but we’ll find out soon enough…or on another platform.

Interesting short snippet of an interview he did here:

i think what we’re seeing here is a re-brand that’s likely been in the works for awhile. Tucker Carlson has a massive privately owned platform in Daily Caller and his own broadcast.

just saying, it’s short-sighted to regard this as a ‘win’ for the left.

If they’re calling him a right wing extremist on the front page, then it’s not an ideological conflict but a credibility conflict.

Didn’t another network at one point try to make Megyn Kelly more appealing to a wider audience after she left Fox? She’s like vanilla compared to Tucker. I’d say he gets a podcast, or something with Daily Wire, or even give some more weight to Newsmax maybe.

I don’t think CNN has worried about little things like credibility for a long long time.

That may sound good but I don’t think that’s true hence a change in management.

Why do you think Fox settled out of court? They still want to be credible to their audience.

Well, management changed because their partisan coverage was causing viewership to tank after a few years of Orange Man Bad being a viable strategy. You can only tell so many lies for so long before it starts catching up with you. Then the new management tried a “let’s be a little more evenhanded in our coverage” strategy, but that just made things worse, because their few remaining viewers just wanted the partisan coverage they were used to. So what to do now? CNN is really between a rock and a hard place.

Well, they settled out of court because their partisan viewership was abandoning in droves after a few years of Orange Man great being a viable strategy. You can only tell so many lies for so long before it starts catching up with you. You’ll actually need to report the news. Then they tried a “let’s be a little more evenhanded in our coverage” strategy, but that just made things worse, because their few remaining viewers just wanted the partisan coverage they were used to.
