Twitter Bans Donald Trump

I really don’t think just banning people outright is a good move, especially when you let CCP spread their evil propaganda and terrorist leaders slide under the rules. It just makes their case stronger, a lot of people who supported Trump think that big tech is influencing politics too much, this just proves it.

It’s unlikely I’ll vote for Trump again, I don’t like how he handled the loss even though I think it was extremely unfair how much the media and big tech influenced the election. I agree with him on a lot of issues, those issues aren’t going away when Trump leaves. People are upset, this is just throwing more fuel to that flame. He said he was going to peacefully transition and called for the riots to stop, I would have let it go at that point.

I think he rallied too much of the more crazy base with how he handled the loss. I’m extremely upset with those people who charged the capital, but it wasn’t everyone. There was a huge protest, and many of them didn’t do anything. They are like me, we really didn’t feel the elections were handled fairly and feel anger over issues that we cared about like jobs, taxes, foreign policy, etc. Those people that rioted really hurt the things we wanted.

Could it be that this crazy base is pushed by the rest? “CCP spread their evil propaganda”, “Terrorist leaders slide under the rules”, “the media and big tech influenced the election”. Right or wrong, real or fake, this contributes very little to the debate. We should go back to more concrete issues and tackle specific problems one by one.

btw, I expect to receive tons of examples as a reply but I am not planning to react. It is those kind generic terms, used by politicians (of all sides) that I don’t like seen being used.

“White Nationalists attempted coup”
Utter nonsense.

Indeed. He has used Twitter to threaten destruction of entire populations of people in the past, which quite clearly goes against their terms of service. They should have banned him years ago, and are cowards for having waited this long, but better late than never.

Exactly — it’s very concerning and it sets a dangerous precedent. We shouldn’t be stooping to CCP’s level.

I think Biden should say something. If people can’t even be on the social media platform, how is the country going to unite? The Dems used to be against big tech having too much power. Biden won, if he wants to unite, he needs to show people that voted for Trump that he can at least get along with them instead of letting the narrative of people who supported Trump are all the same people who rioted run.

A lot of us are really upset with those rioters, that’s not what we are about.

To my opinion, the logic behind this question is really dubious.

Of course It is not all that you are but it denotes some serious issues with the current state of the Conservative movement.

Oh CCP’s level?
Let me explain that to you. When a private company in the US refuses to do business with the president or government they can do so because it is a free country.
In China they would turn everyone owning twitter into living organ donors.

They profited off him and his outbursts for years and now that he is almost out then they are jumping on the populist bandwagon to virtue signal.

They should have banned him years ago if they wanted to make a statement. He has been a toxic influence for years but that was ok because $$$

I prefer the strategy of making pariahs of extremist hotbeds, then force people to come back to regular society, as opposed to appeasing extremism. Society can unite around opposing it.

Kinda like how you don’t let a 7 year old hold you hostage with their whining about how not buying them chocolates is against their human rights.

Did you tell that to your antifa friends?

No, I usually tell them, great work fellas, we did it! :joy:

Didn’t know this white supremacist was suing some hack-checkers who are funded by the CCP:
