Ugggh Winnipeg

Thanks to colonialism addiction and alcoholism are now part of indigenous culture.

As an interested party with no vested interest, could you state clearly where you stand on this issue? The drip-feeding of your opinion makes it difficult to follow.

Here. I checked some facts;

Canada became a self-governing dominion within the British empire on 1 July 1867 when the British North America Act was passed by the UK Parliament.

The Statute of Westminster, passed by the UK Parliament in 1931, acknowledged Canada as co-equal with the United Kingdom within the British Commonwealth.

Canada obtained full autonomy when the UK Parliament passed the Canada Act 1982 in 1982. This granted full sovereignty to Canada, and so marks the date at which Canada became truly independent.

If you are referring to this;

" As a side note, and as noted in the comments below, the Queen’s role as monarch of Canada is entirely separate from her role as the British monarch. She is Queen of the United Kingdom, and also, Queen of Canada by an act of the Canadian Parliament ( The Royal Style and Titles Act ). "

Native Canadians can, and do, operate casinos and other types of entertainment venues on reserve land. Unlike the US, Crown treaties for mineral rights on reserve land have always been honoured, so many bands (they don’t use the term “tribe”) ended up with considerable resource-based revenue.
Not all, though. Many reserve communities are still shit-poor, with tons of accompanying social problems.
Aside from that, the urban situations described in the earlier posts are a completely different issue for First Nations people who don’t stay on the reserve.

It’s usually the mother’s jealous ex.

Yes. This just happened in Changhua in an apparent triple murder in which two 10-month-old twins were killed:

Awful awful stuff.

Peace to all,
Guy

Facts (deception?) from the British monarchy ONLY!

What about from the indigenous peoples???
They say the LAND was STOLEN!
The rest of the planet knows the TRUTH!

So say the British!?!?!

Modern Canadian history is deceptive!

Are you saying he thinks its 3rd world because he is racist or are you implying that immigrants from 3rd world countries will destroy the host country back to 3rd world quality?
The global gdp per capita gap is closing which means that 3rd world and 1st world are not as different as they used to be.

I think people from one culture and certain conditions will reproduce it in another place. Sometimes not for the better.

Yeah, and the tribes got it from who? From God? Or from the tribes who were there previously, like everywhere else in the world?

Would your pension be guaranteed if the city implode?

There are no complete guarantees in life, but probably.

Hey! Don’t steal my thunder … Nowhere else is allowed to have crappy people with disturbing crimes!

Most people think Winnipeg is a small city with hockey and farms and no problems. Nothing could be further from the truth! A simple Google search shows very quickly how bad it has become, we are not that small (quickly approaching 1 million) and have the highest violent crime rate in Canada (especially for our uber-violent robberies).

That is a truly tragic story all around

According to this site (https://www.macleans.ca/canadas-most-dangerous-places-2019/, Winnipeg is tenth on the list for violent crime. Thompson, Manitoba actually has a much higher rate and according to the stats, violent crime in Winnipeg is dropping (although it’s still double the Canadian average).
