So will BBC run out of cash after Trump sues for the BBC mistake, or will the crown bail out the BBC?
The BBC is probably not planning a merger / acquisition / anything that would need to be approved by a US government agency. So pretty much no incentive to settle for hundreds of millions like the US news companies with negative coverage about him.
Besides, I do find it almost funny that the vice president of the US is loudly complaining about Europeâs allegedly war against free speech - and then the US president keeps suing the media because they hurt his feelingsâŚ
No it doesnât work like that in other countries.
Even though it is a fake news outlet, the BBC is the most viewed news outlet on the planet. Used by the intelligence services abroad to influence and funded by the UK taxpayer.
It wonât be going anywhere.
Seems Trump wants more than that:
While on board Air Force One on Friday, Trump told reporters the figure would be âanywhere between $1bn [ÂŁ759m] and $5bnâ.
And if they donât comply he will increase tariffs against the UK or whatâŚ?
Well if it a fake news outlet, it should be sued? as it promotes itself as very real news.
Unlike this news rag
Well I am not sure, but BBC seems worried in the news story at least need spend a lot on lawyers so not sure crown will support the BBC?

Yeah, they might need to pay some lawyers - but I doubt the legal fees would reach billions.
On the other hand, a sitting US president suing a foreign media institution at a court in Florida for a documentary that didnât even air in the US (!) could be an interesting look into the USâs current state of freedom of the press and freedom of speech.
That would be like Xi suing the BBC at a court in BeijingâŚ
People here complain about defamation laws in Taiwan - but compared to that case, they would look really harmlessâŚ
Itâs fake news to Trump and the far right Republicans. But, for the majority of Brits, and the rest of the world, myself included, has been the most reliable source of information.
The BBC has been spouting crap for a long time. It is the arm of the security apparatus that helps control the UK:

Show me a media source or agency that has not been spouting out crap for the last 50 plus years?

So, the BBC spouts out crap and is reliable.
There used to be decent journalism within the âmainstreamâ arena - that was before the media companies (and small newspapers) were taken over or shut down.
Well, exactly. Not that I want to see Trump succeed, but why should we care? Except for wanting to see a giant spike driven into so-called âmediaâ organizations like the BBC.
How could they go broke, theyâre funded by the tax payer with extortionate like costs for the TV license. Itâs the British public that would pay. BRITISH broadcasting corporation.
They got through the Jimmy Saville scandal , Iâm sure theyâll wriggle their way through with their tax payers money. The muppets that support them will continue to pay.
Call me old fashioned, but I love Auntie beeb. I guess they gonna change with the times and go tik tok style to appease the stupid people xx
Saville, wriggeling, muppets, yes, thatâs a lot going on there

I doubt that most of their audience is older. EastEnders is still running isnât it?
I wouldnât know.
