if it’s not good, people in India will suffer badly.
if it’s not, good people in India will suffer badly.
Personally, I would read it as the first, but it’s debatable.
What’s not debatable is that Putin invaded Ukraine and tanked (in both meanings of the word) their wheat harvest.
.
Unlike NATO’s Article 5, which states that an attack on one is an attack on all, I don’t think the EU has an official policy on attacks on member states
Besides, what do you whatabouters say when the person you’re asking this to replies “yes, actually I did condemn the Iraq war and still do.” Do you just go “oh” and move on? Nah, seems not. You’re setting up a straw man argument to deflect from the horrors that Putin is CURRENTLY perpetrating. And in addition to being a well known fallacy of logic, it’s just an overall terrible way to make your point.
No chance.
He likes a bit of Victoria Nuland with his breakfast cereal.
'hmm I wonder what that bitch Victoria was doing today.. …Wot…The ..Hell…I can’t…Believe this…Wait till I tell the guys in the Ukraine thread about this…'.
Although he seems he has suggested a US involvement thread.
The invasion of Ukraine is a war crime and Putin should be tried as a war criminal. I was just curious if the citizens of Coalition of the Willing countries who are so adamant about bringing Putin to justice are concerned that their war criminals got off scott free and are now living comfortable lives of retirement. Plus maybe it’s time to stop the persecution of Julian Assange for revealing America’s war crimes since that’s hppening now.?
You realize there was a LOT of Americans and Brits against the Iraq war, right? Far more than there seem to be Russians against Putin’s war. A million people showed up for the protests in London in early 2003. Domestic opposition is well known.
Yes, there might be some hypocrites, but in this particular thread this question of “but did you condemn the war in Iraq???” has run its course because most have answered “well, actually yes I did” and yet their answers fall on deaf ears and the people who use that as a cudgel to make their point keep banging on about it as if it hasn’t been answered countless times.
I am not comfortable.
Hence, it is a double-standard and not a whataboutism, because how can those countries (US/NATO) call for the overthrow/trial of Putin based on the invasion and its aftermath, when US/NATO has, to put it simply, killed far MORE innocent people and destroyed far more infrastructure since 911 wantonly.
Do 2 wrongs make a right? Of course not.
Yet how can US/NATO, which have done the same thing to a much greater degree (by definition of people here in the forum and elsewhere) be ultimate judges of Putin/Russia?
More likely it’s the neocans and MIC on both sides (yes, there are neocons in Russia; not talking about Putin) who want endless conflict forever, and us pawns in the game have zero power to make changes even through democratic elections in western countries. It sucks, but that’s the way this situation is boiling up to be now.
Yet America’s and Britain’s war criminals have yet to be brought to justice and are living privileged lives in retirement. How is selective justice real justice?
George Webb, are you a member here? new claims of a massive tunnel under the steel factory of azovstal with a hidden military lab provided by NATO. This might be the explosive story of the lizards. DAVID ICKE !
What response are you looking for? Yes, I’d be fine with George Bush Jr and Tony Blair going to The Hague for war crimes. Can we move on now? The year is 2022, not 2003.
Look. I get it. The Coalition of the Willing doesn’t have time to practice what it preaches because that would be whataboutism. I’m also realistic about the fact that, other than lip service, the Coalition of the Willing is never going to bring its war criminals to justice. At this point I’d settle for ending the persecution of Julian Assange and ending the “accidental” drone lynching of little brown children once and for all before Russia gets more evil ideas.
Nope, they did not win the war with Russia. They lost. Valiantly, but still. And had to give up even more of their country as well as pay reparations in a forced peace.
