Before the election Trump said the economy will be so great when he comes into power… now Musk says the economy will come into recession… The excuses and walking back from the election talk have already started and we are not even to January 20 yet

He is a US citizen, thus him not caring about Taiwan doesn’t make him unpatriotic as he isn’t a citizen here. My comparison is to Taiwan, he is at least not openly stating he wants to give the USA to Russia… 
Musk is already - disturbingly - acting like Trump’s acting Secretary of State. Do you feel confident he wouldn’t convince Trump to sell Taiwan down the river if Xi gives him the ultimatum of either Taiwan or his Gigafactory Shanghai/entire Tesla operation in China?
In light of his numerous comments about Taiwan that have been very deferential to China, I am not convinced. Especially once the most advanced chip production could all be made offshore at the same scale.
This is why this shit shouldn’t mix. Xi has very serious leverage over Musk, as not only China is Tesla’s second biggest market, but also more than half of Tesla’s production takes place there. Musk says things about Taiwan that reinforce this fact. That’s a big reason why deep-blues here love Musk.
Let’s hope Marco Rubio won’t be merely a figurehead SoS and Musk will soon take the backseat. The man is only in it for himself. Taiwan, US economy, essentially anyone in his way be damned.
What’s in it for Trump? I don’t think Trump cares about Elon. Trump doesn’t need Elon to convince him to sell, he needs anyone to make a good offer. Could be Xi, could be Putin, could be Moscow Mitch’s wife, could be Jackie Chan.
