Wack Things in Taiwan 2020

Yes, the Indian police are so much more gentle.

Indian police are too primitive and untrained. No training to treat people with decency.

Built in Shanghai.
Kid should have been tested for Covid-19

I heard this already from a TW friend, but I couldn’t believe it until it popped up in today’s English news.

This is soooo typical Taiwanese.
If I would be the parent, I would sue the TW government for introducing and approving such (sorry for the word) bullshit.

I can’t imagine how traumatising this must be for the child.

I guess the kid must have ram-raided the tesla with his vibranium bicycle. The guy should have gone the whole nine yard, drag the kid to court, then upload a pic on instagram saying “the little boy was really brave and faced up to the problem.”

Parents laughed. Could be they were afraid of having to pay for the damage to a Tesla so whatever, they would put up with the humiliation. But still, kid was traumatized. Turned pale, stammered, looked about to pee himself.

For starters, there should be a law where the owner who parks on the street is not able to sue for full damages. I mean, parking a multi-million vehicle on the street is tempting fate already. It is like that poor kid who crashed against several Lamborghini while delivering papers.

The damage is negligible and suits him right for parking in a street, a narrow, one way street.

Different caste?

They don’t care. More like goons in uniform

Carrefour stinky feet.

This drives me crazy. See it all the time at Costco. At least he’s not clipping his toenails.

It’s a silly news, but there’s a form they have to fill out and a breathalyzer is part of the routine. There should be a policy for dealing with children, but those laws weren’t written with children in mind. It was all unnecessary anyway as the owner later reached an agreement with the family and didn’t need to get insurance, therefore not the police, involved. He’s the one that posted the photo, bragging about how brave the little boy was for admitting what he did.

It’s their answer to 7-11 selling a boat. It wasn’t as well planned.

whats the deal with ding lou jia gais? do people report them? can people report them?

i think its fair enough to rent them out, for a cheaper price. but renting them at a high price and even making expensive taofangs out of them how the F is that allowed?

They’re called the penthouses of Taiwan. I don’t think their legality should be based on the rent, but on the whole they tend to be cheaper and more customizable.

The existing ones were grandfathered in some years back. New ones can be reported and are often removed.

why not? they are potentially unsafe with lesser quality and worse temperature control than a legit apartment. the rent should be less than a normal place. its not right that these shit boxes are also helping to drive the market up.

I just walked past a breakfast shop where the customers were three Food Panda guys.

Delivery guys need to eat too.

Here’s one that’s not so much “wack” as “WTF!”

Exiting Taipower Building MRT Station, most folks are complying with the mask regulations even after exiting the ticket gate. Behind me though is an old guy who starts coughing like crazy. I turn around and see he’s ripped off his mask to cough all over the metal tables used to recharge devices.

WTF!!!
