WCIF boerewors for home grilling?

OK OK I know I get good boerewors at the Tavern, but I have a party coming up and want to braai the real (or closest I can get) on my balcony. Where can I get raw, turned into a circle, boerewors in Taipei? From what butcher? b

What are borewors?

Mmmmm… braai…

I know of an SA fella here in Taichung that makes the stuff. Couriers it to Taipei if need be.

Reasonable quality. Maybe you could buy in bulk for your maties up there (but aren’t you in Taichung, anyway?).

Will post the number ASAP.

Thanks guys, I’m DELIGHTED to have that Tianmu address at last, but that doesn’t mean I won’t go to Taichung to get other stuff, too!

Tainancowboy, please don’t post boerewors recipes again  , I make the best boerewors in the entire world but I just don’t have the time nor can I find in Taipei the quality ingredients that one (read: I) MUST use.

I can’t wait to taste the new products, though!!

Thanks again for the info!! :sunglasses:

Beg pardon…done simply in a spirit of helpfulness.

 And it is sorely appreciated, kind sir. I’m just scared the whole of Taiwan starts making the stuff and I can’t corner the market anymore … :sunglasses:

Can someone please contact me if you have good boerewors to sell. I have imported the spices previously from SA for our South Africa Days, but I’d rather find someone who is in this business.

Please send me an email or reply to this post.

Cheers,

I’ve heard several S.Africans in Taiwan talk about it, one says he knows a place to get it in Tian mu, I’ll ask him. I still have no idea, what is boerewors?

It’s basically a popular South African sausage. I don’t like it very much, but people like to barbeque it for hot dogs, or they eat it with a kind of porridge-type dish.

I’d like to know too. I like boerewors a lot.

sorry mates. the guy that told me has apparently left Taiwan for good

Hey! I’m one of the guys in Taiwan who make boerewors. No, I did not leave. That would be the OTHER guy. In fact, I’m quite busy every day making… yes you guessed it BOEREWORS! In fact, I send Boerewors all over Taiwan.

Now if you kind folks looking for boerewors would just use the wonderful facility on Forumosa called SEARCH… you would have found me already. I’ve been ā€˜advertising’ here for months (almost as long as I’ve been making boerewors in Taiwan.)

Oh… and No, I don’t sell the ā€œporridgeā€ that we South Africans eat boerewors with. You’ll have to get that from the OTHER guy!

Just shows, one can’t advertise enough. :loco:

See… Check, Bru! Right under here! :thanks: Been here all the time!
