Moonfall was a lot more entertaining than expected. I thought it would be garbage, but it was watchable.
We old. They all predictable. How’s the kid with hearing impairment who lives opposite you? I often wonder how he’s getting along.
Last night:
Dark City. Pretty interesting movie. 4/5
Watch the director’s cut, as the theatrical has a horrible spoiler in the first minute.
Recently:
Revenge - 4/5. Stupid on a logical level, but entertaining. Super bloody.
Run (2020) - 4/5. Good thriller.
Yeah, this is an underrated movie
I found it really hard to get into. It’s the film I was watching as 9/11 unfolded, so it’s a film I haven’t wanted to re-watch.
Definitely one of those somewhat undiscovered gems.
Good podcast episode discussing it here:

Luke? Luke and his parents had to sell their house. Both had non essential jobs during the first year of covid. Very sad. He had finally made friends with the girls across the street. Used to drive them around in his little motorized car. Great kid. Nice people. Gone away.

Shame they had to move away.
It was. But they took their shot. Nice house, new hood. “We’ll be alright, unless, harhar, there’s a plague or summin.”
Hey @superking The port scene, where the fishing boats pull out, that’s Gloucester. That’s where we went fishing from.

You can see the big red processing warehouse in one of the scenes. Yes, good times. What was your catch named? Edward the III or something?
What was your catch named?
Adam.
The fish I caught in Tenerife was called Eve. Next time we meet, I’ll be catching Cain and Abel.
I’ll be catching Cain and Abel.
Those naughty bois!
Is that movie so good that people having watched it would understand this conversation?
We are just trying to hook you into our own upcoming buddy movie. It’s called Two Anchors.

I just finished it. Take date and cry manly tears of joy. Yes, it’s pretty good.

Brilliant.
In an anti-Russian mood since the Ukraine disaster unfolded I have watched or re-watched:
Thirteen Days (Cuban missile Crisis) A very good period piece. Takes a few liberties but I really like it.
From Russia with Love – Sean Connery’s second outing as James Bond. A very good movie with an outstanding fight scene in a train compartment with Robert Shaw. Lotte Lenya is great as the Russian villain.
The Hunt for Red October – Never saw this before. Overall pretty good but I had hoped it would be better. Interesting to see a young Alec Baldwin at work.
But the best of the bunch:
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Stopped Worrying and Learned to Love the Bomb . I had forgotten how genuinely hilarious this movie is. I mean this is laugh out loud stuff. Peter Sellers plays three different characters, all masterfully. George C. Scott is brilliant as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Slim Pickens is great in anything and a young James Earl Jones. The paranoid Brigadier General and his conspiracy theory show how relevant this movie still is. Cathartic to watch after a month+ of Russian induced tragedy.
What about the original Red Dawn, how is that not even on the list!?
