What TV shows are you watching (2022)

,

Euphoria is Great.

Script, acting, cinematography, really good

Finished season 1.

Season 2 just released in January.

I tried reading the book but it pretty tough to get through with all the characters being so insufferable and the plot feeling so stagnant (the romance part took so long). I ended up just not finishing it. It’s a series and I know others like it but I just couldn’t get through it

I guarantee the TV show is not stagnant and romance is just one small part of the entire bizarre plot.

Has anyone watched the chestnut man? I want to watch it but maybe too spooky…?

About to start on the fourth season of the sinner.

I’ll give it a shot. Maybe it’s one of those rare times where an adaptation is better than it’s source.

By the way, I don’t know if anyone has been watching Disney plus StarWars and marvel shows but almost all their original shows are really awful. Book of boba Fett is the worst one so far.

Hit monkey looks promising though so does the animated star wars anthology. I really think Disney pretty much ruined StarWars and marvel with very few exceptions (I thought Mandalorian season 1 was fun if flawed)

I wish Disney would just stick the material that’s for a general audience since that’s what they do best. Stick to wholesome animated stories.

They have some great stuff on the stars channel though. They even have arrested development!

I’m watching Manifest now. Pretty addictive.

It’s my second favorite after WandaVision.

i’ve only seen mandalorian, but you prefer both of these to that?

Haven’t seen the Star Wars one (as the only SW properties I care about came out in the 1970s- early 1980s), but the Marvel shows I’ve seen so far are good. I’ve only seen WandaVision and half of Loki, but so far have enjoyed both more than most of the recent MCU movies.

It’s also on Netflix.

I really wish AD had ended after series three. It’s been bloody torture ever since and has gone some way to ruining the first three series too.

For every revival that works, about half a dozen don’t.

People can’t stop watching

Never heard of it. Sounds terrible.

That’s what I thought.

Ran out of things to watch and it turned out really good.

Zendaya. Leading actress won the Emmy. And others also great acting.

I’ll pass. This shift into nearkiddie porn is really just kiddie porn these days. I think I may have seen a bit of the first episode not knowing what it was now that I think of it. I recall the swimming pool. My response was the same. Gross. Why am I watching this? I’m 54 years old. It’s not meant for me. Seems a bit too Freudian, and that’s me being kind. Not judging, but knock yourself out.

Dexter: New Blood

If you didn’t watch the original Dexter, it aged super gracefully. Watch that 1st.

If you like The Mandalorian, then you should probably watch the most recent two episodes of Book of Boba Fett (#5 and #6 I think?). Boba Fett disappears and the Mandalorian takes over, in a move reminiscent of all those comics footnotes of ā€œSee Issue #___ for the story!ā€

Book of Boba Fett remains not very good (albeit somewhat better now), but if you just resume with Season 3 of The Mandalorian, whenever that comes out, it probably won’t make any sense.

Only context you need: Boba Fett and his friend Fenec Shand are looking for muscle in an upcoming gang war, a gang war that’s been really really really really badly developed.

I tried but didn’t.

Totally fair! It’s a Saturday morning serialized cartoon done well. Fun, and nothing more, and probably only if you enjoy the Star Wars universe.

Oh, finally, somebody agrees with me.

I love Marvel movies. The tv shows, so far, only What if and Wandavision are OK. I still think they could be shortened to a movie, though. I have binged watched all the new ones…icky.

And I don’t do Star Wars, so I am spared that pain. From what I’ve read in sci Fi groups though, it hurts. Now, I know we Trekkies are in trouble as Paramount actually looks at the Mouse and says: we want that, we’ll follow. However, even the train wrecks -Discovery, cough cough- are still palatable. And do not need a cute next Christmas plushie for marketing/grabbing eyeballs in every series.
