Interesting, did not think this so much
Well, the DPP is a poor manâs KMT. All politics in Taiwan is brown feces. Good Chinese or Taiwanese donât enter politics.
If you enter politics through ideology youâre probably foolish. Most enter due to the financial incentive, during and after the political career.
Not surprising. Seems the DPP supports anything the US does.
And many KMTâers studied in the US on a KMT scholarship. Getting green cards and citizenship for good measure.
And many KMTâers studied in the US
Studying in the US is nothing. Even more of them started businesses in China and moved their whole families there permanently. As a whole, theyâre definitely more pro-China than pro-US.

A brief review:
The United States recognizes the Government of the Peopleâs Republic of China as the sole legal Government of China. Within this context the people of the United States will maintain cultural, commercial and other unofficial relations with the people of Taiwan.
ââText of Presidentâs Statement on Ties With China,â New York Times, December 16, 1978
Many Kuomintang people have invested in a future abroad. They are ridiculed on Taiwan as âtoothbrush Chineseâ because all they need pack before leaving is a toothbrush. The joyous celebration of Taiwanâs citizenry on the removal of that mainlander security force would rival Iraniansâ glee on the Shahâs departure. No decent American or Taiwanese interest is served by siding with the discredited Kuomintang security force and ignoring the new prospects for peace, prosperity and democracy.
Kuomintang leader Lien Chan refused to concede defeat after the final results showed Chen the winner by a margin of less than 30,000 votes. Lien said there had been too many irregularities surrounding the election, in which more than 80 percent of the islandâs 16 million eligible voters participated. He asked the Election Commission to seal the ballot boxes and re-examine the votes.
Lien is due to meet President Hu Jintao in Beijing on Friday during his controversial eight-day âpeace journeyâ, which will also take him to his birthplace, Xian, and the commercial centre of Shanghai.
Hu Jintao (above) will meet Lien for peace talks on Friday
It will be the first meeting between the heads of the KMT and the communists since Mao Zedong met Chiang Kai-Shek in Chongqing in 1945 to negotiate an end to the civil war.
ââLien arrives in China on historic visit,â Al Jazeera, April 26, 2005
Former Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) chairman Wu Poh-hsiung (ĺłäźŻé) yesterday met with Chinese President Hu Jintao (čĄéŚćż¤) in Beijing at the annual forum between the KMT and Chinese Communist Party (CCP), during which he proposed that cross-strait matters be tackled under the banner of âone country, two areas (ä¸ĺĺ Šĺ).â

I havenât been able to find anything about it on the rest of the Internet. But my not having found anything else on it isnât determinative of whether the information is there.
