Why do only foreigners hit on me?

Every weekend, I go out for a night on the town. I usually get hit on, but only by foreigners… never by the local Taiwanese. Is it possibly because I’m tall (170 cm,) therefore intimidating? One of the last men who hit on me, was Canadian, and said my height was “quite enduring.” Or maybe Taiwanese men don’t care for foreign women?

Intimidated.

Are you sure that he said “enduring”?

Yes, maybe a misuse of words? I’m not sure.

Its probably the height of your cleavage. Only tall foreigners can see down it and the Taiwanese don’t know what they’re missing.

Do you go to places where foreigners try to pick up local woman?

If that is you in your avatar, it is reasonable that men will hit on you, you are quite atractive…Perhaps the Taiwanese men drank too many DEHP laden beverages as a child and now their estrogen laden libidos are slowing up.

IF thats you even this half foreigner will hit on you too

but generally speaking i like my ladies bout 160cm plus minus 5cm ish, bigger then that they are hard to toss around (just kidding)

You shouldnt have any trouble getting somebody to like ya. The asians are generally jsut more intimidated by western women and also most western women do not prefer asian guys, even the ones over in asia.

so they probably think hittin on you is a waste of effort.

Western women are just more intimidating. You probably don’t mean to be that way. It’s just that you’re more assertive culturally.

Here’s a little contrast:

I was just at Luxy toward the end of the night, doing some steps on the floor just before the night ended, watching a rather tall Western lady rack another guy. Their friends chuckled at him.

Conversely, I was there and saw the same-old, same-old Asian gang rape circle dancing. Taiwanese men here are pretty brazen around other Asian women. I asked them about it, and they say that it’s just how they dance to get to know them. The Asian women appear to take it, if they don’t invite it (I’m getting uninvited asses rubbing against me, but I’d at least like to know their names first.).

Now, SincerelyMeili, I want you to see this from a Taiwanese man’s perspective. Should he go for (a) a woman who might literally thrust her knee into his ball sack if he makes a false move or (b) a woman who will passively reject his advances, and may shout him away at most?

I love women with “enduring height,” by the way. Women who shrink over time are not my type.

True story, true story.

Most of the Taiwanese guys I socialize with don’t have a ‘game’. They will arrive at an establishment as a group, converse only to people within their group and then leave together. They don’t, generally, speak to strangers.

Advert? No… I actually feel awkward being taller in Taiwan, it makes me feel less feminine. The foreign men who hit on me aren’t very attractive, just foreign. I think the Taiwanese men are more attractive. Maybe an advert for Taiwanese men, though?

You’ve already been to a forumosa happy hour?

The problem you’ll have is all the really attractive, charismatic foreign males tend to be married. However, there are a lot of surprisingly tall Taiwanese guys floating around. They might be a little on the shy side, though, so will need a little hand-holding.

Literally.

When you go to the club, or anywhere else, and you see a Taiwanese man that you consider attractive chatting up a woman, what do you notice about the girl? The Taiwanese males that I know all seem to think that the foreigners in Taiwan tend towards a type of woman that they themselves generally don’t find all that attractive; the shape of the eyes and face being the most common things mentioned. Height may be an issue, but guys in Taiwan are catching up there; all of the guys in their twenties that I play sports with are easily 170 and above…I doubt the answer is as simple as that.

He probably meant “endearing”.

I was thinking the same thing.

Why don’t local guys hit on you? Back in my single days, long ago, my Taiwanese pals never hit on a lady unless they were totally inebriated. They don’t know how, for the most part.

If you want to meet local guys, ask for introductions from a neutral members of their groups.

There’s a faulty portmanteau that refers to something different entirely. I was betting on this: endearing, alluring → enduring.

This is akin to Palin’s refudiate, only this one is even stranger because it’s not neologistic, but a complete confusion of three lexical heads, not two.

You’ll probably need to start hitting on them yourself. I find that women age into their directness with men, so while you may still be relatively young and expect or anticipate that the men will come to you, you may find yourself on the active “hunting” side for once.

Don’t forget Billy Crystal: “Women need a reason to have sex. Men just need a place.” Insofar as that is true, just give yourself the reason. Men will come.

Worked for me mum, and I’m the result. I therefore strongly recommend this technique.

So our dear Tomas appears to be insinuating that the best technique is to get the lads drunk. I therefore also strongly recommend this technique.
