Why Rottweilers are cooler than Pit Bulls

[quote=“M0NSTER”]Well, to be honest; I’ve always been intimidated by Rotts.

I might not be the leading expert on this but I can say that my dog read the situation completely.

Pits were trained to bring down other animals and have to be taught to hurt humans. Rotts/Sheps/Mastiffs were bred to hurt/kill humans. It’s that simple.

Great quote.

Dunno…reverse the breeds and you got how I feel about it…Mastiffs are very gentle and loyal dogs that are adept at reading the body language of thier owner. The difference in her response as to whether the knock on the door was a known friend or the UPS mans was striking.

On the other hand of known very few pit bulls that I’ve felt truly confortable with.

This leads me to think that it has more to do with the owner, training and particular dog

My brother had the cutest pit bull puppy named Fierce. She loved my mom and was constantly climbing into her lap and falling asleep. But she also ripped a hole in my shirt when she got carried away with playing with a toy. Judging from the hole she left, I’m glad it was my shirt and not me.

They gave her to a friend when they found out they were expecting. They didn’t think they could have fully trusted her around a baby.
