Will and Testament

Is a Last Will that was written up and notarized in the U.S. valid in Taiwan? Taiwanese Mother-in-law has a last will for her daughter (only a U.S. citizen) for all her assets in Taiwan. Would a new will need to be writtten up or just have the English one translated to make it valid in Taiwan? Thanks in advance

In this sort of case, you do need a lawyer. Please do not scrimp too much.

Take the original Will to any county Clerk in any U.S. County in the U.S. Ask that person for an “exemplified copy” Costs a few dollars. This document now becomes valid in most jurisdictions, includigt Taiwan. You will need a Taiwan translation but it is based on your overly officious document and, from I have seen, will be respected and enforced. PM me for more if you need it.
